Tanzania safaris

From the epic expanse of the Serengeti to the self-contained basin of the Ngorongoro Crater, a Tanzanian safari is as close as you can get to playing a starring role in the Lion King. The Big Five can be found here – the crater being the most likely place to tick them all off – but it’s the Great Migration that draws so many to this part of the world. Our Tanzania safaris bring you up close to the action – and the swirling cloud of vultures…

Big game safari in Tanzania
Superb: it exceeded our expectations. Watching a herd of wildebeest crossing the Mara River. It was a truly astonishing, primal sight. (more)Sheila Brooks
The time spent on Chumbe was so relaxing in on idyllic paradise Island & with it's eco ethics it is a place with a truly great purpose. (more)Becky Jones
Everywhere we looked there were birds: on the water's edge, in the air, perched in trees. Crocodiles slipped into the water and there were pods of hippos, plus giraffes, elephants, buffalo and impala. (more)Joanne Davenport
From £2640 - £2895 excluding flights
Kilimanjaro Climb, safari & Zanzibar holiday
Memorable parts? Too many to mention! Highlights - getting to the top of Kilimanjaro and Serengeti safari! Tips? Do your research. We tweaked our holiday quite a bit and the main aim was to climb Kilimanjaro - had we not researched and as such altered the original itinerary by adding an extra day - we would NOT have made it to the top - which would have soured the rest of the trip which was to go on safari and finish in Zanzibar. Local benefits? Yes - we had sixteen people... (more)Angie Koufou
From US $4550 - US $5850 excluding flights
Tanzania holidays, Selous, Zanzibar & the coast
It's actually pretty hard to describe this trip in a few words - it was truly magical and inspirational! (more)Nina Szewczak
Way better than I ever could have imagined. I will be going again! (more)Carole Artis
Absolutely amazing. The most memorable holiday ever. (more)Michael Moulsley
From £1895 excluding flights
Tanzania holiday, safari, culture and wildlife 7 days
Very good...I enjoyed both the safari in Serengeti and the diving in Mafia very much (more)Marina Poletto
Fantastic! Amazing! Awe inspiring! The trip of a lifetime! Our most memorable moments were our interactions with the local people. Even though we booked this safari to see the Serengeti, we also wanted to make sure we spent an equal amount of time visiting and getting to know the people of Tanzania. We will forever hold in our hearts how warm and inviting everyone was. (more)Teresa VandenBosch
Fantastic. It was the perfect family holiday with a 12 year old and 14 year old. Always plenty to do, loads of variety, but never rushed. (more)Rebecca Rowland
From US $1860 - US $2480 excluding flights
Kenya and Tanzania safari adventure
A brilliant holiday, excellent game viewing, a great group of fellow travellers and staff, over all too quickly!! (more)Eileen Emery
The holiday was good - safaris are tiring so a week on Zanzibar was a wonderful way to relax. (more)Sally Moir
The most memorable part was camping on rim of Ngorgoro crater and seeing in crater black rhino and leopard. Awesome sunsets. (more)Lesley Halliday
From £2899 - £3499 including UK flights
Tanzania wildlife, people and beach holiday
A marvellous holiday that exceeded expectations in all areas! Most memorable was the incredible wildlife in both Selous and Ruaha national Parks, plus the coral reefs we saw around Mafia Island - truly spectacular. Lack of other tourists was a major plus. (more)Liz Taylor
Everything was wonderful. The setting perhaps captures most of it - staying in beautiful places in the midst of the national parks and conservation areas, where the animals were everywhere (from in camp to close by during game drives). (more)Laura Dukess
We were lucky enough to see a cheetah hunting a gazelle. Unfortunately the cheetah was unsuccessful but it made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and you really felt the thrill of the chase watching the animals in action. (more)Ilana Howley
From £3495 - £3930 excluding flights
Selous Game Reserve safari, Tanzania
Most memorable was having such close contact with the animals as the lodges were not enclosed. In Ruaha River Lodge a male elephant crossed the river while we sat watching from our verandah and went beside our house to wander round the lodge. (more)Sheila Lucas
There were too many moments, the entire trip was memorable and exciting. I absolutely adored Sable Mountain Lodge, it was beautiful and relaxing. (more)Lisa Schooley
Having an elephant peer through the door of our banda was quite a surprise, but my favourite part was meeting lots of locals and learning bits of Swahili and tribal dialect...Tempted to give it five stars! Probably joint first with a long trip to Belize. (more)Jo Maw
From £2570 - £2755 excluding flights
Serengeti Trail, Kenya & Tanzania safari
Memorable parts? Wildlife drives. Local benefits? Yes. Overall rating? Excellent. (more)Anne Brautigam
From £936 - £1155 excluding flights
Tanzania luxury safari
Memorable parts? The amount of animals we saw on safari. Tips? Avoid the Serena Serengeti hotel, not the best, service bad, food bad and rooms a bit shabby. Local benefits? No Overall rating? Brilliant - 9 out of 10. (more)Joanne Longhurst
From £5785 including domestic flights only
Tanzania camping safari
Memorable parts? Seeing the great migration, thousands of wildebeest crossing a river while making a "snoring" sound. We stayed their watching them for several hours. Wonderful. Tips? Think about the fact that you want to go camping or prefer staying in a lodge. The bathroom-facilities on the camping sites are basic. Local benefits? Our guide was really concerned with respecting the natural habits and behaviours of the animals and he always put this before trying to fulfil... (more)Suzy Mentens
From £1375 - £1690 excluding flights
Tanzania & Zanzibar holiday, 12 days
Memorable parts? The company were very flexible when preparing the trip and send us all the information we needed on a timely manner. All the lodges were very nice and the organization was really good. The best part was definitely our driver guide, Hamisi, who explained us so many things about the wildlife and the culture in Tanzania, responded to all our questions, and was really flexible and kind. We made us feel safe all the time and we really had a great time with him. Tips? Local... (more)Marta Miret

A highlight was the way the experience of safari, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar combined to give a really enjoyable flavour of East Africa. (more)Mike Sage
Absolutely amazing - super balance of safari, mountain climbing and relaxing at the beach in one trip. Don't think it can be beaten! (more)Amy-Jane Valender

Tanzania safari holiday
All of the animals - first we saw the 'big five' and many many others! The most astonishing thing was the number of animals and their proximity. Far closer contacts than we had ever considered!! Absolutely bloody brilliant!!!!!!!!!! (more)Angela Gliddon
If you want adventure and excitement and an experience to remember forever then you will love it. (more)Kathy Miles
For animal lovers, it's paradise... We saw the big 5. The unbelievable amount of times we saw lions, some right at the side of the road seemingly oblivious to our vehicle and not one, but three leopards and two cheetahs. Beautiful. (more)Carole Charlesworth
From £2599 - £3249 including UK flights
Private vehicle safari in Tanzania
This was my third safari, but it was the one that most connected me to Tanzania. I was there primarily for tha animals but also wanted a holiday that benefited locals rather than international companies. This holiday achieved that but gave me so much more, I am now in love with Tanzania, it's stunning landscapes, its wildlife and its charming people. (more)Julia Runciman
Seeing Lions in the trees in Manyara and the Serengetti was the most memorable part of the holiday. (more)Sally Foote
Seeing leopards in the Serengeti was the most memorable part of the holiday (more)Susan Armstrong
From £1740 - £1905 excluding flights
Tanzania wildlife & beach holiday
It was a fantastic experience which was hugely enjoyable the organisation was flawless. Whenever we were due to be picked up we were picked up, for us, traveling with kids, it was the right combination between feeling like precious cargo and being on an adventure. (more)Azad Khan
Brilliant! Camping in the Serengeti with nobody else near us was the most memorable part of the holiday. (more)Pam Robinson
Seeing the migration cross the Serenara River in the Serengeti was the most exciting part...Marvellous. (more)Eric Lowry

Nairobi to Victoria Falls overland travel
I can't really say that I have returned relaxed and refresh... was really tired (in the last days did abseil, rafting, micro light, travelled for 36 hours,..) but really enjoyed it! Memorable parts? Saw a lion on a tree, the lake with hippos in new year, the new friends. Tips? Be prepared for the rain (yes, it rains in Africa) and for long hours on the truck. Local benefits? We didn't have too much contact with local people since we stayed in private camping, but I think... (more)Carla Almeida

Kenya & Tanzania safari, culture and wildlife 14 days
We saw all the animals we could hope for, most of them in great numbers and really close up. Perhaps the very best was when we came upon first a mating lion couple and then, a few km away, the rest of the pride with mums and cubs nursing and playing. Absolutely amazing! (more)Marie Lenstrup
The highlight was staying in a bush camp site, watching three lions less than one kilometre away from the site. (more)Pablo Moreno
From US $3695 - US $4495 excluding flights
Great Wildebeest Migration Safari in Kenya and Tanzania, 10 days
The best way to see the Wild life in Eastern Africa and the best way to go on Safari. If trekking was possible through the Masai Mara this would have been the only better way to see these amazing animals. For obvious reasons trekking is not possible and going in a car is the second best option. (more)Tomas Gregersen
The safari was a highlight and a very nice guide named Jackson from the tour operator. The guide was always there in time and very helpful. (more)Cathrin Skogly
From US $3330 - US $3430 excluding flights
Kenya to Harare overland tour
Memorable parts? The Serengeti and Zanzibar. The animals in the wild life reserves were in abundance and Zanzibar is an interesting place with such a chequered history. The beaches in the north are lovely and the snorkeling near Prison Island fantastic. Tips? Take enough DET and new US dollars and don't expect to have much internet access. Also take a comfortable bed - either a thickish air matress or a camp bed as it's not that comfortable sleeping so close to the ground for that... (more)Stephanie Foster
From £695 excluding flights
