I am reborn! Simply the best holiday I have ever been on
Some great stories to tell the grandchildren. Would recommend to a friend
It was all memorable, we couldn't have planned it better if we'd tried, highlights
included the visit to the elephant sanctuary, the stay in the jungle treehouse, the stay on the lake and the relaxing days had at Koh Tao Cabana. Perfect. (more)Paul Grout
The best part of our whole trip was our 3 night stay in Chaing Mai at Joy's house. The white water rafting, zip lining and elephant Park were all such incredible fun but the best part was Joy's house; what a place. It's so welcoming there, it's like staying with family. All the trips were organised to perfection as was the whole holiday. (more)Steve Martin
Helping at the elephant hospital and working one on one with Nam Fon
To book directly through the sanctuary's website. I could have saved myself $700 if I had done this. And as I now am in debt on my credit card from this trip, I wish I knew to book through the sanctuary.
Yes absolutely. I have also continued my work here in the US by helping to fund raise for the sanctuary.
10 out of 10, even though I got salmonella... (more)Haley Larson
It was all memorable and all locations were different. That was the purpose of booking a variety of areas. That said, we went to see wildlife and this criteria was mostly ticked and very memorable. (more)Jan Jupp
Volunteering at the orphanage - it was just an unforgettable experience, there are no words to describe it...you have to live it!! The kids are amazing and I will miss them so much!!! (more)Cristina Piccolo
Visiting Chew Lorn Lake, swimming there, staying in the raft houses, and walking in the nearby forest were the highlights. (more)Stephanie Bunt
I went to the Wildlife Rescue Centre in Thailand, this was a fantastic project helping animals who had been mostly kept as pets. Its hard to say what was the most memorable part of this holiday as there was so much variety and different experiences, its difficult to decide what was the best part of it.
I had so many fantastic experiences, and the centre itself was in an idyllic area, on the grounds of a Buddhist temple. One highlight was spotting wild elephants in a nearby national park, after dark. (more)Olly Carney
It was absolutely brilliant. The whole tour ran to plan and was extremely well organised. It was a great combination of active and relaxing and we had a marvellous time. Highly recommended. (more)Michelle Le Blanc
The most memorable parts were... Riding the elephants and seeing Angkor Wat. The lodgings at Ko Samed were also very beautiful...It was a very well run trip.
The most memorable part was the time with elephants!....Amazing! (more)Lisa Hele
Loved each second of it. 10/10. (more)Sarah Marsden
My holiday was the best experience of my life, so much so I wasn't ready to leave and got very upset when the time came to leave. I fell in love my elephant Campion and Boonma and his family welcomed me with open arms. Such good hearted people. The experience with them added to my amazing experience and I would recommend anyone try this experience. I would give this experience 10 out of 10 there was nothing I feel could of been better except for me booking longer! (more)Debbie Field
Thoroughly enjoyed - The baby elephant playing-a real privilege to see! (more)Amanda Patrick
Working with the elephants was most rewarding, especially when taking them for
walks with a bucket of chopped fruit treats to ensure they follow the volunteers
and don't wander off into the forest. They are such lovely animals and we got to
know them individually. The baby elephant called Pin was quite a character and
The wildlife part was very varied with so many wild animals (circa 450) and
different species to look after.
It was also great to meet... (more)Colin Harvey
Being so close to the elephants and feeding them. The baby was particularly cute and mischievous. (more)Sue Delmaine
Feeding and bathing the elephants in their own natural habitat and seeing them roam freely in the park was the most memorable. Also hearing the else's trumpet noises at 6am as a lovely morning wake up. Great holiday. (more)Nicol Allen-Burt
It was wonderful. Very satisfying to see how much effort is going in to educating people about elephants and rehabilitating ones who have been in neglectful environments. (more)Jodie Eldridge
Experiencing the local village with people who didn't speak any English.
Contributing to a project bigger than ourselves by providing daily turtle activity observations. Nok's restaurant! Stopping by at the resorts in between the hard work. The scenery.
1. Stay in Thailand on the mainland before coming to Koh Phra Tong. The island is not representative of the rest of the mainland (much more expensive,
much more basic accommodations) and will be a culture shock... (more)Svetlana Neveu
Being with the elephants and their handlers. Having the big bull elephants walk past you, just inches from your face, leaving you to feel completely small and vulnerable as these pre-historic like mammals move by with grace, softness, power and majesty! (more)Georgina Hickman
What a wonderful educational experience and to feel you are putting something back into the preservation of these magnificent creatures. (more)Sharryn Salkilld
A great experience. I haven't travelled alone before but I soon made friends and the staff were great. (more)Paul Gramlick
