Springtime brings to the Biebrza Wetlands a spectacular show of bird migration. Such a phenomenon attracts an international community of birdwatchers as 270 species of birds have been documented in the Biebrza valley.
The main attractions to the area are survival trips with a qualified guide in the vicinity of the Red Marsh (an area of strict protection), as well as all forms of ecotourism including bird watching and photo-safari. A wide spectrum of tourist attractions is fulfilled by well-preserved and nurtured traditions of local culture such as traditional haymaking, St. John's Night, the pushing boats regatta and local exhibitions and products.
Furthermore, rich cultural and historical heritage provides visitors with an opportunity to explore various sites, such as the Tsar’s Stronghold in Osowiec – a fortress that was built at the end of the 19th century.
