Some great stories to tell the grandchildren. Would recommend to a friend
We did. Trek over Ton Prival pass, approximately 4,100m high, through the
snow, for 9 hours. It was an exhilarating day, with the most amazing views. The
view from the top was great, but every corner on the way it just got better and
better. That was a definite highlight!
Have as much time as you can to spare. We managed 31 days, which allowed
lots of time for visiting cities as well as hiking, which was the primary point of

check what medicines you can take into the country with a doctors prescription info, otherwise may have problems at boarder control.

There were quite a few highlights in Turkmenistan: the dinosaur trail near Afghanistan, the fire crater, the old ruins of Merv, Konya Urgench, and more.
One day we were passing through a town and saw that there was a wedding. Everyone was so happy and wanted us to be happy with them and join in - so we did. Ashgabat itself is weird.
