Excellent! A once in a lifetime and very unique experience... Getting so close to chimps and a silverback gorilla - amazing! (more)

Gorilla safari in Uganda
The whole of our week in Rwanda was extraordinary and memorable... and we lost our hearts to this small and extremely beautiful country. We had two days gorilla tracking which were wonderful - not least because of the great organisation and knowledge of the local guides and trackers. (more)

Uganda travel information

Although land-locked, the gently rolling plateaux of Uganda are not short of water, with numerous lakes and rivers including Lake Victoria in the south and the White Nile flowing towards the great Murchison Falls and Fula Rapids in the north. Richly varied landscapes include tropical forests and tea plantations on the slopes of the snow-capped Ruwenzori Mountains, arid plains of the Karamoja, lush and heavily populated Buganda and rolling savannah in the south west.

A number of projects throughout the country have been specifically designed to benefit local communities and conserve wildlife while enabling visitors to enjoy the rich ecosystems of different areas. Among such projects are the International Gorilla Conservation Programme in the mountainous Virunga region, and the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust in the Kibale forests.
