Isle of Mull and west coast of Scotland cruise
Memorable parts? The whole of our holiday was wonderful. The crew were all great, friendly and so helpful. The food was delicious every meal, and plentiful too! The cruise was the best way to see some of Scotland’s beautiful scenery and wildlife. The only fault, we wished it didn't have to end! Tips? Don't forget your binoculars. Sensible shoes and a waterproof for when up on deck and the weather damp. Local benefits? I am not sure about these things as we didn't buy any... (more)julie Clease
From £1866 - £2095 excluding flights

We were a small and delightful group. The boat was cozy and comfortable, the landscapes and cloudscapes, sublime; and the day trips and hikes, especially our visit to Iona and its sacred and ancient abbey were vitamin C for the spirit. (more)Patricia Knowles

Memorable parts? The stunning scenery and peaceful moorings. The wildlife especially the seals and beautiful shoals of jellyfish floating like alien creatures in a calm sea. The first ever fish caught by one of our party - a splendid mackerel! The delicious food and good company of Michael and Colette. The successful descent into the dinghy of a nervous member of our party - if she can do it with Michael's patient help anyone can. Raising and lowering the anchor - tying knots and rope throwing... Andy and Rebecca have tried really hard to create a B&B which offers a very comfortable experience but yet limits the environmental impact. With the increased concern about flying, UK holidays are enjoying somewhat of a comeback. Having come a long way since the Victorian era when people first started holidaying, there is now a lot more to a holiday in the British Isles than Butlins and building sand castles at Skegness. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but with a greater variety of accommodations and activities on offer, everyone, even the more sophisticated and discerning traveller, can have a great holiday in the UK. This includes some good options for families as well. We now have a dedicated accommodation manager at Responsible Travel who has dramatically increased the number of accommodations we have on the site, you can browse our great selection of responsible UK holidays here. By booking a holiday in the UK you would not only be reducing your carbon emissions compared to long(er) haul flying, making it the environmentally friendlier option (especially for a short break), but you could also be exploring some of the world’s finest and unique countryside.
