Amazing. Trip of a life time.....The amazing landscapes were very memorable as were the Mongolian people and their culture. The wild camp sites were a huge highlight of the trip. (more)Paula Ridge
It was fantastic, with excellent local interaction with the families who owned the Ger Camps, fab views and an idea of the vastness of the country/ steppes. (more)Kathleen Culliton
The landscapes, the animals, the people, the small group we were travelling with: it all was just right and made for a mind-blowing holiday. (more)Sophie van het Erve

Bhutan was the most wonderful friendly country...Tiger's nest was the highlight, amazing place. The tour operator organised the whole tour to perfection even organising my friend's 70th birthday evening. (more)Rosalind MacRae
The most memorable part was trekking up to tigers nest. A lifelong wish finally coming to fruition with a super guide and lovely fellow tourists...I cannot fault any part of the holiday. (more)Helen Dukes
I was immersed in the Nepalese way of life and found it to be enchanting ! (more)Carole Bridge

One of the most memorable things was the beautiful Carpathian countryside and the people working in the fields as of yesteryear. The haymaking and haystacks were fascinating and we all fell in love with rural Romania. (more)Joan Houston
Activity holiday in Montenegro
From

We were the only tourists we saw all week, apart from a day we went to the coast which wasn't arranged by the hosts we were taken to hidden gems all week long, we would never have discovered these places without our fantastic hosts. (more)Louise Hirons
Montenegro is only 3 hours away from UK and yet a world apart It gave our children a distinct feeling that they had gone further off the beaten track than we had seeing new animals and having exciting experiences the views of mountains and lakes at various times of the day were never something we stopped loving looking at . (more)Steph Bowler
I loved the opportunity for wild swimming in Lake Skadar and surrounding rivers in the area. The National Park is outstandingly beautiful, and at times we felt like the only people there. (more)Maggie Felton
Kamchatka holidays, small group tour
From
£1,999

Memorable parts? There were many great moments. Our group seemed to gel very well, and the Russian team were terrific (although admittedly we had to get the first guide removed after day 3). I loved the rafting section, close to the bears and so peaceful. Shame about the rain. The lunar base camp and Dead Forest were extraordinary. Weather precluded a trip to the Valley of the Geysers, instead we helicoptered to Kuril Lake: what a day! The pilot descended into a volcano crater on the return... (more)Alastair Giddings
Romania holiday, the Beauty of Yesterday
From
£1,065
excluding flights
EXCELLENT, our guide Alexandra was first class....Hard to say as so many wonderful bits. Maybe visiting the fortified church in the village where Prince Charles has bought a house, and then going by horse and cart to visit the brick maker. (more)Peter Hartnall
It is difficult to pick out the 'most' memorable as the whole holiday was absolutely wonderful. The guide made it possible to visit small museums and 'cottage industries' such as a rural tile maker, which involved a pony cart ride, none of which would have been possible without her local knowledge. (more)Julie. Stokes
It's difficult to pick one thing. For me the Carpathian Forest Steam Train trip and the visit to Viscri Weisskirch are the two most memorable items. (more)Martin Sutton
Transylvania holiday accommodation

It was the perfect 'get away from it all' trip where you really felt like you were stepping back in time. The location, nature and wildlife were stunning and I particularly enjoyed meeting many different people staying at both the guesthouses. (more)Melanie Johnson
We were impressed by the beauty of Romania. It was really opened up for us by the excellent guides at the guesthouse, who showed us places and things we would never have found on our own. (more)Fiona D

Memorable parts? Almost everything we saw in Georgia was memorable and exciting! Tips? Ladies, take a skirt for the churches and monasteries. Local benefits? Iraq Kurdistan holiday
From

Memorable parts? The visit to the battlefield of 331BC Guagemela where Alexander the Great defeated Darius III was particularly good because of the excellent talk on the history and strategy employed. However the scenery in the mountains, the Kurdish people and the many historic and cultural site were all interesting and memorable. Tips? The more you have read about the area first the more I think you get from the trip. Be prepared to be flexible and enjoy it as it comes. Local... (more)Jenny Maddick

Memorable parts? The visit to Meroe. Mind blowing! The pyramids in the daytime WOW, but even better at sundown. A very big shame that there were no G&T`s to go with the atmospheric feeling of history. When you stay in tent city, it`s fantastic with the night sky and no light pollution. Eating and sleeping, with the stars, all around you, then you have arrived in paradise. If you are lucky to go on this trip and have Kahlid as your guide, then you are in for a treat. If you think the desert... French Riviera holiday, with morning yoga
From
€805

Memorable parts? For me, staying at the hotel has re-written the rule book on the group activity holiday - something I have avoided up until now, as I have never wanted to spend 24/7 with a random group of people or be tied to a strict, laminated schedule. Everything about the week I spent in Saint-Jeannet surpassed my expectations. The accommodation was cosy and comfortable (and if you book a balcony room, I challenge anyone to find a better view!), the excursions were flexible, interesting... (more)Ali James

Gerewol festival holiday in Chad
From
£1,999

Memorable parts? Interacting with the Mbororo people was a very rewarding experience. They were friendly and very obliging when it comes to taking photos. The work which had been done before the trip started in order for the group to be accepted was obviously of the highest standard. Tips? Arrive a day earlier to acclimatize as it is a very hot destination and it is better to be well rested before the start of the trip. I arrived a day earlier and left Chad later than most of the... Ghana, Togo and Benin holiday, gold and magic
From
£2,099

Memorable parts? The festival for the local king in Kumasi on day 11 was a highlight. Another highlight was a visit to a village of semi nomadic people on day 9. They had a sort of water festival that day. Around 100 women in color full dresses carried a jar of water on their head, singing, and emptied the water in front of their chief. Visit to the slave forts and to several markets were very interesting. Tips? Do not have high expectations about hotels or restaurants, but... (more)Annie Krefting

Memorable parts? The whole trip was memorable but plov night really sticks in the mind. The locals were very friendly which added a bit of magic. Tips? Take your own tonic it is not available anywhere in the country! Local benefits? We certainly put some investment into the country not sure how much benefit it was. Environmentally no idea of our impact. Overall rating? Great, nice group, well rounded tour (more)Dominic Long

Very enjoyable (more)Sandra Killick

Memorable parts? Visting the Lobi villate of Kampti with all its fetishes in full display. Tips? Drink plenty of fluids and bring plenty of money and storage space for all the souvenirs you are likely to buy. The quality and variety are amazing. Local benefits? Staying at local hotels, buying souvenirs and drinks (at inflated prices) definitely helped the local economy and local people. Overall rating? Different and enjoyable. (more)Dominic Turnbull
Armenia holiday, Ancient Armenia

Memorable parts? Lots of ancient history, culture and impressive monasteries. The Matenadaran Library in Yerevan is fascinating with a wealth of exhibits and information. Tatev is worth a visit, great views from the cable car. The Genocide Memorial in Yerevan is very imposing and dignified. Tips? Try the local home made produce you can get from vendors outside the monasteries. The bread filled with herbs we bought at Tatev was delicious and the walnuts wrapped in fruit was also very...
