Memorable parts? We did. Trek over Ton Prival pass, approximately 4,100m high, through the snow, for 9 hours. It was an exhilarating day, with the most amazing views. The view from the top was great, but every corner on the way it just got better and better. That was a definite highlight! Tips? Have as much time as you can to spare. We managed 31 days, which allowed lots of time for visiting cities as well as hiking, which was the primary point of our trip. Don't overlook places... (more)David Harper

Memorable parts? It was an amazing adventure from start to finish. Everything was extremely well organised and our guides and drivers were excellent in every respect. It's hard to pick one day or event that stood out from the others, but perhaps I would say that the stay at the yurt camp in the Kyzlkum desert was particularly memorable, and the stay with the family in the Nuratau mountains. Memorable parts? Visit to desert fortresses north of Urgench. Tips? Relax and enjoy the people and country but make sure your drivers and guides understand your itinerary and interests. Local benefits? Yes although one does wonder about the use of cars in certain environments. Overall rating? Excellent! (more)John Bird

Very well organised, fascinating, memorable and packed with thought-provoking information. Feel I've been on a rollercoaster history lesson from 500 BC to the 21st century. Highly recommended. (more)Caroline Gant
Most memorable was the flight in the Russian helicopter to base camp, the cycling & horse riding through amazing scenery, Emma's cooking and great travelling companions. (more)Penny Bulbaczynskyj
The buildings and culture are out of this world but don't go for the cuisine....It was a totally different experience, challenging on occassions (the roads) but absolutely well worth it. (more)Tony Canning
