(more)The Halong Bay overnight boat trip was fascinating, the trip into the Mekong Delta most enjoyable, but perhaps the two days in Hoi An gave us the best flavour of the country - varied activities and relaxing.
(more)The ethnic markets, the train trips, the hotels and staff, our guides, the high quality, safe, late model 4 wheel drives and excellent drivers (since we went on some steep and slippery roads), meeting local people and seeing the beautiful country, people and amazing Hanoi were all memorable. Our trip to the northeast was one of the best bits (I was honoured to be invited to join the other giggling grannies on the floor of the Tay house - if only I was as limber as they are!). Most memorable were Angkor Wat and the other temples around Siem Reap. Home Stay near Vinh Long. (more)It was all highly memorable. I enjoyed the homestay the most as I felt like we got to understand a little bit about the people and managed to keep fit with the kids :) (more)The land was beautiful, the people friendly, and the prices exceptional. The operator’s selection of hotels was very good, especially the luxurious Hilton Hanoi Opera, where we spent the final 4 nights. Much of the holiday was memorable, the madness of Saigon, the beautiful town of Hoi An, exploring Hue and surrounding countryside by motorbike, the wonderful Ha Long Bay, the delicious food......I could go on! (more)
