The ethnic markets, the train trips, the hotels and staff, our guides, the high quality, safe, late model 4 wheel drives and excellent drivers (since we went on some steep and slippery roads), meeting local people and seeing the beautiful country, people and amazing Hanoi were all memorable.
(more)The food - absolutely delicious everywhere we went, even the meal cooked by our guide in a Tay minority homestead where we ate with the family and drank rice wine welcome shots. Phu Quoc Mango Bay resort - peaceful, eco-friendly, lots of options. The scenery - highlights, Mount Fan Xi Pan from Sapa and Halong Bay. Everything ran like clockwork. Most ‘exciting’: simply waking to such wonderful views over the rivers in Hue, Hoi An and Saigon.
