Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon holiday
Excellent, great bunch of fellow travellers (tour was full at 13). Our tour guide, Dan, was great and made the holiday work really. He was always available to us and coped well with our different needs/wants and the unpredictable weather. (more)Wendy Pountain
The most memorable parts were my first view of Bryce Canyon; trekking down to Cedar Ridge in the Grand Canyon. (more)DC Gibson
Hiking through Bryce Canyon with snow capping the rocks. One group member said as we hiked down amongst the structures "We need to invent new superlatives". It was stunning...Fantastic, recommended. Great tour guide from this tour operator. (more)Melanie Atkins

Nepal extreme activity holiday
Brilliant!! The most memorable part has to have been rafting the G4 rapids on the Bhote Koshi with thunder and lightning, rain bouncing off the water and 1.5cm hailstones falling from the sky, still all in 27 degrees heat, wow amazing! (more)Neil Whittemore
I had a brilliant time on this holiday and it fulfilled most of what I wanted to get out of the trip. (more)Murray Hendriksen

Mongolia adventure holiday, off the beaten track
Excellent. Very well organised. Guides knew their stuff and were always helpful and cheerful. It was a tremendous experience and I would love to go again - maybe to a different part of this huge and empty country. (more)Theresa Partington
Memorable, beautiful, with a bit of challenge [especially for a 75 year old, me] (more)Elizabeth Wingate
The most memorable parts were: Travelling across vast plains in the Gobi, with no roads no buildings no artificial light, and stopping to listen to the silence. The immense blue sky. The generosity and kindness of Mongolians... (more)Alison Cathles

Mongolia adventure trekking holiday & Naadam Festival
Memorable parts? The ENTIRE trip was outstanding and amazing... the expertise of the guide, the enthusiasm for the country, the love of the country was thrilling. The NAADAM festival (which was what enticed me to going on this trip was even MORE than I had imagined Tips? Let Jess (the tour operator) guide you as to what you are most interested in seeing/experiencing. She is just so knowledge I had her plan a trip for my grandson and myself that I felt would be a great introduction... (more)Eve Solomon

Colombia holiday, cities and jungle
The Amazon in flood is one of the grandest spectacles that nature has to offer, and it is unique; Ciudad Perdida has been reclaimed for history, the effort to get there disappears on arrival. Colombia is vast, it is several landscapes and peoples, that can be read and discovered as you travel. (more)Weng Yee
Holiday highlights: 5 day trek in Amazon and Lost City hike. In all it made it a very enjoyable holiday. (more)Helen Pryce
From £1485 - £1985 including domestic flights only
National Parks holidays in America
Memorable parts? There were so many highlights! Perhaps the most memorable was the sunset in Monument Valley, the light made the rock glow. The tour leader was also excellent - knowledgeable, enthusiastic, but reactive to the views and wishes of the travellers, anticipating our preferences. Tips? Be prepared for extremes of temperature - cool and cloudy in San Francisco, extremely hot and dry in Vegas. Local benefits? Clearly using local accommodation, often not owned by... (more)Ian Roberts

The most memorable part was walking over a snow wall and then sliding down an avalanche slope all in tea shirts with the sun blazing down on us, followed by a sighting of a grizzly bear. (more)Ian Halliwell
Rob, Marilyn and Troy were wonderful hosts, as were the whole team. The location is stunning, nestled in the mountains with a river running through the centre of it....We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and recommend it to families and couples alike. (more)Susan Brooks

Alaska holiday, classic camping tour
It was an amazing experience. I fell in love with the place and the group I travelled with and our guide were super!! Which made the trip even more memorable. The itinerary was great and it was all very well organised and hassle free. (more)Maria Sarda

Alaska and Yukon classic camping tour
Memorable parts? We travelled a great distance, saw tons of great scenery and was able to do a variety of activities so I can't really say that one thing stands out however Dawson City (both times) was great. Tips? Bring a bug hat/jacket and some good bug spray. Bring a variety of warm clothes (e.g. mitts, wool hat...) even in the summer months - you never know what the temperature will be like. It really is an active tour and to be ready for this. You do no have to be an athlete... (more)Mary Ellen Ruddell

Iceland adventure holiday, Lake Myvatn in Spring
Memorable parts? The guide, Ingimundur, had a wonderful passion for his country and delighted in showing us parts of this astonishing landscape which I doubt would be discovered by most independent travellers. Tips? Each season in Iceland brings a different set of wonders. A one-off holiday, such as this one (which was run, unusually, at the end of winter) gives an opportunity to see an astonishing country at a time when it is more-or-less free of tourists. coping with the spectacularly... Highlights of Iceland self drive holiday
Memorable parts? Geothermal areas, bubbling pools and glaciers. Tips? Go early to see the puffins, before they go out to feed. Check if an evening meal is provided and take provisions if staying in an isolated arear. Local benefits? Maybe benefited local people but didn't benefit environment. Overall rating? Overall very enjoyable, I would however change the last nights accomodation to somewhere other than a noisy city centre hostel. (more)Amanda Law

Sweden family holiday, Ecolodge short break
Memorable parts? Staying in Kolarbyn Ecolodge - cooking on an open fire and swimming in a beautiful (cold) lake Tips? Ensure you take some small luxury foods with you as they are nice to add to the basics provided in Kolarbyn Book on the Beaver/Moose/Wolf Safaris - you will not regret it. Food is locally source and the whole experience will stay with you forever. Local benefits? Yes. I have never sorted my rubbish as diligently as I did in Kolarbyn. Overall rating? Up... Costa Rica tailor made holiday, highlights
Memorable parts? The stay at Cerro Escondido. It was not touristy, the hike there was great, and the managers were very welcoming. A beautiful, peaceful spot, off the beaten track. Tips? If you go to Tortuguero, go for as good a lodge as you can afford. We felt our guide was not as good as the one from the other lodge. Don't just stick to the well known bits, get off the beaten track a bit to experience the real Costa Rica. Local benefits? Yes! Most guides were local,... (more)Yvonne Chapman
From £2200 excluding flights
Sikkim tailor made tour, north India
Memorable parts? Probably the Tibetan refugees in Darjeeling holding a candlelit vigil for the Pachen Llama who has been missing in China for many years. Also the orchids and magnolias in flower. Tips? Be very careful about the operator you use. We went to Sikkim and West Bengal and feel ripped off as the accommodation was mostly not the value we paid. We checked the costs of the places we stayed and we were hugely overcharged. Could have had better hotels and paid less. A couple... (more)Linda Robertson
From £679 - £849 excluding flights
Canadian Rockies & wilderness walking holiday
Memorable parts? Hiking the Iceline trail in Yoho National Park. Seeing grizzly and black bears by the roadside. Tips? The pace of this holiday is a bit frenetic and there was very little 'down time'. Days started early and every minute was taken up with hiking, cooking for the group (of 16 in our case) and washing up, putting up or taking down tents and travelling between destinations, but, despite the hard work, it was one of the best holidays I've ever had. Truly fabulous group... (more)Christabel Owens
From £1549 - £1689 excluding flights
Highlights of Argentina tour
Memorable parts? All of it. Tips? Hotel information was not as good as it could have been. Many of the hotels did not do food and that could have created a problem over xmas & new year. Also some did not take credit cards. Local benefits? Yes. Overall rating? Excellent. (more)Mike Billington
From £1335 including domestic flights only
Gobi Desert expedition
Memorable parts? That's a hard decision to make. The Gobi desert in Mongolia awesome. I took around 4000 pictures and movies that we'll put on our website along with a travel log. We really liked the sand dunes and camels. I got some great pictures of horses, camels, people and the environment. It was awesome staying in Ger camps. Our driver, Ot, was awsome. Tips? Be flexible. Know that your guide and driver are very experienced. It's typical for a car to break down but the driver's... (more)Charlotte Lundemo

Backpacking in the Canadian Rockies
Memorable parts? The most memorable part of our holiday were the views that we experienced. They were breath taking. Sitting on top of Tangle Peak after having just climbed up it was amazing. Robert was a very good guide on this trail and told us a lot about the history of the land with the First Nations. The other trails that we went on were guided by Troy who was the most amazing person. He knew so much and was very encouraging as this was our first hiking holiday. He set a good pace and... Heaphy Track hiking trip
The most memorable part of the track was coming down from the tussock highlands along the Heaphy River, emerging out of the forest and seeing the beaches of The Tasman Sea. (more)Allan Justus
A great experience particularly with the tour operator passing on so much information about the geography, flora, fauna and history. (more)Peter Ladd
Seeing the rare Blue Duck close up in it's natural environment was very special. I also loved being in the company of people from around the World who were passionate about the environment. (more)Wendy Grace

Ecuador adventure holiday, tailor made
Fantastic!!!! The best parts were tubing down the Napo River Valley! Also, enjoyed tremendously all the laughter on the ropes course, the river rafting and the hospitality and GREAT FOOD. (more)lynn mahan
Absolutely superb from start to finish. The operator was outstanding in making us an itinerary which was perfect for the amount of time we had to spend there, and we loved working with them before, during and after our holiday. We felt that the range of experiences, activities and accommodations enabled us to really experience a bug chunk of Ecuador and its culture in only two weeks. (more)Cara Roberts

Holiday in South Africa, Madikwe and Waterberg, tailormade
Memorable parts? Most exciting - seeing lions, leopard and African wild dogs eating, sleeping or playing from only a few feet away. Most memorable - visit to Soweto. Tips? We did a late booking, but I would recommend booking early to ensure you visit the reserves you really want. Local benefits? All centres were very conservation minded. Benefit to local people harder to assess in South Africa. Tips? We had a really great holiday. (more)Jackie Hunt
From £1800 excluding flights
Kimberley holidays in Western Australia
Memorable parts? Camping under the stars in Purnalulu National Park under the most amazing sky I have ever seen and being woken by dingoes howling and calling to each other in early morning. The wildflowers were everywhere. It was an amazing time to travel. Tips? Make sure you are fit enough to do all the walks so you can get the most out of it. Some require a good level of fitness and scrambling over rocks and boulders. Take good walking boots/shoes. Be prepared to rise early 5.00am.... (more)Wendy Muller
From AU $2795 excluding flights
Oman holidays, Arabian sands
I had a wonderful time...Traveling through and camping in the Omani desert was the most memorable part of the trip for me (more)Nancy Wiesenfeld
Camping in the desert was the most memorable part. (more)Julie Collins
From £1475 - £1684 including UK flights
Alaska adventure cruise
Memorable parts? It has to be the Un-Cruise Adventure (though the road trip was pretty good as well). Tips? As they recommend, take plenty of layers and wet weather clothing (activities take place regardless of weather so you need the right stuff for hiking & kayaking, as well as watching the scenery and wildlife from the boat. Don't worry about "evening clothes" - most people only changed in the evenings if their day clothes got wet, and then jeans are fine. Local benefits? Having... (more)Lavinia Martins
