Snowshoeing in the French Alps
The husky dog sledding, the ice climb, the snowshoeing itself, being out in such a beautiful environment! And our companions too - the other four people in the party were lovely, and we all got on very well together - enough in common to bond yet different enough for good conversation! (more)Angela Dennison
In terms of the most exciting part, it has to be the ice climbing...not part of our original plans but I'm so glad it was suggested. Slow down and enjoy your stay in what really is an undiscovered part of the Alps. (more)Norma Sherratt
Well organized, interesting, hassle free and great fun- the ideal introduction to the activities. (more)Matt Hannah

Andalucia self guided walking holiday, Spain
Fantastic and restful (more)Henrietta Naish
Just what we wanted. We used the local restaurants and bars, used the local taxi, shopped in the village. They are all very friendly and helpful but it does help if you speak a bit of the language. (more)Trev Liberson
The entire experience was delightful, and it would be too difficult to pick out any one aspect. We had a terrific time. (more)lin pattullo

Walking in the beautiful natural habitat with the chamois and finding out about the fauna and flora of the mountains was excellent. The company was great, the days well structured and organised and Liz and Mel great hosts so that made the holiday one to remember. (more)Anne White

Snowshoeing holiday in Chamonix
This was our first experience of a winter holiday and snow shoeing, although a challenge to experience the solitude of the high peaks and silent snow fields was amazing. (more)David Knapper
The snowshoe walks on the Alps and the stay at Chalet Savoy were the highlights of this holiday. The walks took us to the top of the world, literally. They were envigorating and the scenery was stunning. (more)Gabriel Decio

Scotland winter walking holidays
Getting up some of the most beautiful mountains in the region, with a great bunch of people. Learning how to do an ice axe arrest whilst sliding down a slope was the best fun! (more)Sarah Daly
The sense of achievement after pushing my boundaries when I climbed out of the Corrie with ice axe and crampons; not being keen on heights - the instructor was so encouraging and supportive that I faced my fears and got on with it! (more)Sue Waton
Learning the techniques including how to walk on ice using Crampons, learning how to navigate in whiteout conditions and recovery procedures after a fall using ice axes. Really good group atmosphere. (more)Matthieu Pinel

Pyrenees winter walk, France
Memorable parts? The fantastic group of people that I shared my holiday with... like minded, laugh a minute, make your own fun people! Our free time was even spent as a group, in search of Lucheon's best sledging spots, we were not disappointed! Tips? Don't skimp on your outdoor gear... good gaiters are a 'must have' item and if you're lucky suncream and sunglasses! Local benefits? Our last group activity, on the way to the airport, was a stop off at the local recycling point,... (more)Pippa Purser

Memorable parts? Seeing the towers of Canterbury Cathedral for the first time away in the distance - our goal was now in sight. Tips? Take a decent camera. Local benefits? Definitely minimal impact on the environment. Local publicans certainly benefited as well. Overall rating? Excellent, good fun and very rewarding. (more)Ian Rigden

Snowhole expedition, Scotland
Memorable parts? Learning to self-arrest with an ice-axe - sliding head first and face down on an icy slope! Tips? Bring lots of spare gloves. Local benefits? Yes, it provides local employment and the accommodation was as sustainable as possible and the activities cause no lasting impact. Overall rating? Very good, maybe not an experience I want to repeat but fulfilling to do once. (more)Dan Smith

Finland snowshoeing holiday
Memorable parts? The whole holiday was amazing, the location, the walks, skiing & husky sledding, the accommodation, the food & the wonderful staff who did their utmost to ensure that it was an unforgettable experience for us Tips? I thought that "winter equipment provided" meant snowshoes, skis & boots etc but all clothing (plus thermos, head torch, rucksack) was also available to borrow, no need to pack anything other than a few baselayers & something comfortable for the evening....
