Namibia and Botswana safari holiday
Memorable parts? Namib desert and Chobe National Park, as well as the excellent tour staff. Tips? For older people (like us), the camping in the Okawanga Delta was NOT a lot of fun. There should be an alternative stay in a lodge and just trips around the delta. Local benefits? To a very limited extent. Overall rating? Really very good - about 9.5/10 (more)Joe Seydel

Zambia safari in South Luangwa
The most memorable part was when we were driving up a rocky dry river to see white rhinos and when they smelled/heard us and started coming towards us, realized they could be a lot faster than us on this terrain. (more)Sven Jeanrenaud
The most exciting was the gorge swing & white river rafting in Victoria Falls as well as the night game drives following lions stalking prey in the Okavango. (more)Jean Pierre Kruger

Botswana & Zambia family safari
Excellent. As a family experience it could not be beaten. The guides and staff were excellent and made our holiday extremely informative and fun. (more)Neil Maddock
The most memorable part of the holiday was camping in Moremi, Okavango. (more)Lynn Houlding
From £3030 including UK flights
Southern Africa luxury wildlife & beach holiday
Botswana was the best. We want to go back today!! One of the most memorable moments is arriving in our first camp, and barely two hours later, sitting on a Land Rover just meters from a male lion, and nothing between him and us! Just amazing! (more)Dirk Bettels
Do it! Money well spent... (more)Katrin Nyman Metcalf

Wildlife volunteering in Malawi, with Zambia safari
My time at there was fantastic - I would recommend the Center in a heartbeat to anyone wishing to have a conservation-oriented holiday. Work is not too difficult on the whole, and you will have enough spare time to develop solid relationships with other volunteers and otherwise enjoy your time. (more)Ben van Haeringen
Working with the young orphaned animals, helping to provide their day-to-day care, was a truly unforgettable experience. Seeing wild Lions, Leopards, Elephants (and many more) up close on safari was fantastic, surpassing all my expectations. (more)Philip Toole

Book bus project in Malawi and Zambia
Memorable parts? The morning at the schools, reading books with the students, enjoying the atmosphere and their enthusiasm. Tips? For the schools: bring with you: a) lots of drawings to color, balloons (kids love them), an inflatable world globe may also be useful. For yourself: a pen drive to share photos with the other volunteers and earplugs for a comfortable sleep while camping. A good hat to repair from the sun during the day. Local benefits? I think that The Book... (more)Federico Spinucci

Zambia and Malawi tailor made safaris
Memorable parts? All days and trip were memorable, but above all watching elephants crossing the river 30 metres away from us having lunch in Old Mondoro. Tips? 1. I'd check the daily planning of the activities. Given the winter climate, the scheduling for the days was perhaps too relaxing, with a very long pause from 11.00/11.30 to 15.30/16.00 depending on the camp. 2. Definitely GO to Lower Zambesi: in any brochure or Web Sites is presented ad a second choise vs. South Luangwa,... (more)Vincenzo Bracciale

Namibia and Botswana camping safari
excellent, but very tiring (more)Gerard Thompson
We loved it! The staff was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed the participation aspect of the trip. The people we met were great and it was really a bonus to meet people from all over the world. (more)Kelly Towle
The most memorable parts were... stunning sunsets every night, the clear starry nights, amazing wildlife, beautiful scenery, incredible people, and great company. (more)Julia Ward

Southern Africa holiday
I can't wait to return to Africa with these operators. It is a unique and special way to see a country and feel the local vibe. Extensive overland travel gives more than a taste of the local culture and enables one to experience a very different way of life than we are used to in the western world. (more)Honey Bernstein
It was all pretty memorable - for positive reasons! Well organised, excellent guide - and the group of us gelled well. (more)Rachel Balen
Botswana is a fantastic country and we had a brilliant guide who was happy to share his knowledge about the different countries, animals and places we travelled through. (more)Anna Downie

Victoria Falls to Nairobi overland tour
Memorable parts? Seeing the big 5 in Ngangongoro; watching a leopard hunt in South Luangwa. Tips? You are on the move a lot and if you sit in the back of the truck, you will be shaken about a lot. So not recommended for anyone with back problems. Don't pack too many things, as you are in a different location almost every night (though you will have plenty of storage room either way, in contrast to some other operators). Local benefits? Yes, we did some things that benefited... (more)Susanne Irving

Johannesburg to Victoria Falls tours in Southern Africa
I thoroughly enjoyed the vacation. (more)Eric Kravetz
The leader and his team were excellent and we all got on in the group. Seeing lions in Kruger was the highlight. (more)Janet Aston
The Chobe NP river cruise and the adrenaline activities in Vic Falls were the most memorable. (more)Tony Lo

Nairobi to Victoria Falls overland travel
I can't really say that I have returned relaxed and refresh... was really tired (in the last days did abseil, rafting, micro light, travelled for 36 hours,..) but really enjoyed it! Memorable parts? Saw a lion on a tree, the lake with hippos in new year, the new friends. Tips? Be prepared for the rain (yes, it rains in Africa) and for long hours on the truck. Local benefits? We didn't have too much contact with local people since we stayed in private camping, but I think... (more)Carla Almeida

Volunteer with children in Zambia
Memorable parts? Working with the children and seeing how eager they were to learn. The landscapes and wildlife were stunning. Tips? This trip was very full-on and should not be recommended to the faint hearted. There was no real chance to chill out as it involves work, travel, setting up camp and self-catering all at the same time. It can be quite hard on the nerves. Do not expect a holiday in the traditional sense. Local benefits? This was an experimental trip in that part... (more)Victoria Binz

South East Africa overland tour
Memorable parts? There are several: 1. Serengeti - the landscape and animals 2. Zanzibar - a good mix with Stonetown and the beach 3. Meeting the people in Malawi and Zimbabwe 4. Meeting Ian Harmer from African Wanderer.com in Zimbabwe and getting close to rhinos 5. Seeing Victoria Falls Tips? Definitely bring a water bottle and also a flask/thermos style mug (with lid) for making an extra tea and coffee at breakfast to take with you when spending hours in the bus. Also be prepared... Vic falls to Cape Town overland tour in 4 weeks
Memorable parts? Seeing hippos up close after travelling by mokoro ( canoe) in Okavango delta Tips? Come with open mind and interest in photography - be prepared to muck in but better than most overland trips in that we had a cook spacious vehicle and tents . Local benefits? Benefited local people when we visited Himba tribe and employed locals as porters and boaters . Overall rating? Very enjoyable and great range of locations (more)wendy taylor

Safari adventure holiday, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique
Memorable parts? Horse riding on the beach in Mozambique and elephant back riding - both of which you have to organise and pay for yourself as an extra activity. Tips? Don't go with this company - we had the most awful experience with them; inedible food, the tents provided had holes in them so they leaked and let mosquitos and other insects in, the bus was falling apart, the window smashed in on us and the roof leaked, the guides had no knowledge of the places we visited and treated... Its 5.45am in South Luangwa National Park. In the copper-grey half dawn we gather around a still smouldering camp fire and prepare for the ultimate bush experience – a walking safari in which we can expect to track and see South Luangwa’s heavy brigade of elephant, buffalo, hippo and possibly even lion. Without a qualified guide to escort us we’d not be troubling the caterers for lunch. Ten years ago 80% of safari guides in the valley were white. Now 80% are Zambian and Daudi Njobvu explains what to do if we come across a four legged juggernaut having a bad day. Read more about Zambia safaris in this Zambia article.
