Weather
Mauritius has a tropical climate with a southeast trade wind. Winter (from May to November) is warm and dry, whereas summer (November to May) is hot, wet, and humid. Cyclones rarely hit mainland Mauritius. The cyclone season is from November to April; January and February are the peak cyclone months (often causing off-shore cyclones) and are best avoided if you plan on participating in water-sports or diving.

The official language is English, although Mauritian Creole, French, Hindi, Urdu, Hakka & Bhojpuri are spoken.
