Mihaieminescu Trust

The guesthouses are restored village farmhouses from the Saxon villages, in the heart of Transylvania, furnished and decorated in a simple, authentic local style, using antique furniture and household objects, as well as textiles and pottery handmade in the villages.

The Mihai Eminescu Trust (MET) has restored eight houses in the villages of Viscri, Biertan, Malancrav, Floresti and Crit, using traditional materials and methods. The MET is a charity dedicated to the conservation and regeneration of villages and communes in Transylvania and the Maramures, two of most unspoiled regions in Europe.

All houses have indoor washing and toilet facilities and hot running water.

All income from lettings is used to fund the Trust’s charitable projects in Transylvania.
