The Ultimate Travel Company is committed to an active responsible tourism policy that respects and protects local environments and contributes to the economy and welfare of the communities with whom we work.

Where possible we support lodges that are locally run and have a minimal negative impact on the local environment, whilst still retaining the high standards that our clients expect.

Our local ground operators share our beliefs and adopt an equally sensitive and responsible attitude to tourism. Where possible, they employ local people and make use of local produce, manufacturers and other services. We ask our operators to recommend local environmental and community projects which clients can visit and support, as well as local restaurants, guides and craft markets that clients can make use of which will benefit the local community.

The Ultimate Travel Company believes that the protection of the local environment and the support of host communities are responsibilities that our clients wish to share. We know that by understanding and respecting the traditions, culture and language of the communities we visit, the value and enjoyment of the journey will be much enhanced and the integrity of the local communities preserved. To help our clients appreciate and understand the issues concerned, we distribute The Friends of Conservation's Travellers' Code before departure.
