Majete Wildlife Reserve

MAJETE WILDLIFE RESERVE is only 70 kms southwest of Blantyre and one of Malawi’s best kept secrets. This reserve measures nearly 70,000 ha of thriving wilderness. After being poached empty, over 3000 animals have been reintroduced so far including elephant, black rhino, buffalo, zebra and many more species. As a visitor of Majete you can explore this park in your own vehicle, or you can participate in the activities we offer. And off course spend the night with us, you can either pitch your tent in our Community Campsite or sleep in more comfortable accommodation at Thawale Camp and enjoy dinner while overlooking the floodlit waterhole.
