Kenya Treks
We organisie travel to Kenya for small groups of guests. We specialise in walking trips to Mount Kenya, preferably off the beaten track and recommend lodges in Laikipia which can demonstrate their community involvement and eco credentials.
The mountain trips are organised in collaboration with our Kenyan business partner, mountain guide John Karumba, who lives in Nanyuki and we also work closely with Hoopoe Safaris, based in Nairobi.

How the minimum criteria of the responsible travel standard was met...
Economic responsibility
We employ local people and some of them are managed and hosted by local communties.
We buy our fresh food from the local fruit and vegetable market and source the rest of our supples from locally owned markets.
We support the charity AMREF (flying doctors) and all guests will be given temporary membership.
Environmental responsibility
We are members of the Laikipa Wildlife Forum and maintain a dialogue with the Kenya Wildlife Service.
All rubbish is taken down from the mountain and disposed of at the park gates in containers provided by the Kenya Wildlife Service.
All the lodges we recommend use a number of eco initiatives.
Social responsibility
Our guide is always proud and delighted to show guests around his home town of Nanyuki, on the equator of the Central Highlands.
All the lodges we recommend support community projects.
Lodges are managed and hosted by members of a community, directly contributing to their livelihoods.
