At H&I Adventures we’ve spent a lot of time in the saddle on the Highland trails to find the most challenging climbs, mouth-watering descents and sweetest singletrack that this part of Scotland has to offer. We have one of the world’s most amazing natural mountain bike parks on our doorstep, and we know it like the back of our hands, which means we can show you the very best of the best.

How the minimum criteria of the responsible travel standard was met...

Economic responsibility

- We benefit the local communities by bringing tourism to their areas.
- By using local services, guides and driver, we help to support local businesses.
- We create employment and contribute to the overall sustainable development of the region.

Environmental responsibility

- Our mountain bike tours are operated with a minimum of two persons and a maximum of eight, who are accompanied by a bike guide and on occasion a driver. We feel that our small group sizes minimises the impact on the environment.
- When our guides are on the hill they will be picking up any litter that they come across, but more importantly, they will encourage you to do the same.
- We do not print any marketing material other than business cards, which are produced using local businesses.

Social responsibility

- When the owner of the local post office/shop turned half the shop into a café, we asked if she would cater for our groups, using local produce and cooking traditional local dishes when we were in the area. This allows her to open late on many occasions through the summer months and to hire in a local assistant to help. This offered us the opportunity to work with a small local business, rather than the large hotel in the greater area

- Our local guide has taken his mountain biking experience and put it to good use, by building local mountain bike trails with the local kids, teaching mountain biking skills and working with the local schools to encourage mountain biking amongst the children and young adults.
