How the minimum criteria of the responsible travel standard was met...

Economic responsibility

We employ 2 full time and two part time local members of staff from the local town West bay. We train our staff thoroughly training takes 3-4 months. We buy local produce from the local grocery and farmers market and use these in our guest meals. All of our hotel services are from local suppliers, cleaning, maids, labour, electricians, plumbers and handymen. We always use the same people because they know our standards for customer service.

Environmental responsibility

Our 'Water Sense'' toilets are efficient conservation water management fixtures, using minimum volume to flush the toilets. The toilets are fed from a Gray water system, which is reclaimed, filtered water from your bathroom sink and showers. All condos are supplied energy by solar power, located on the roof tops. The condos are extremely well insulated for effective cooling and a 16-SEER central air conditioning system is installed. We give our guests information about the conservation of the natural environment. At check-in the guests are given a briefing and a hand book about their walk on the Green side of Grand Cayman.

Social responsibility

We give the local kids mask/fins and teach them to snorkel and dive after parents approve. We educate restaurants to not serve Grouper and shark. We buy local products and supplies. We support local Boys home with snorkel/dive trips and work with Boy Scouts. We also sponsor local beach cleanups. We are involved in local fundraising events or raise awareness and support local charities and Associations.
