HASTSHILP which means ‘handicrafts’ is a registered not for profit organisation under Rajasthan societies registration act 1958. It was registered with a set Performa of “memorandum of association” designed for well known Khadi and village industries institutions, for the advancement of the Khadi vision of Mahatma Gandhi. Since its creation in the 2004, The society by working in the remote villages of Bikaner, has found many remarkable traditional handicrafts and cultures, promoted them a bit through responsible tourism.

How the minimum criteria of the responsible travel standard was met...

Economic responsibility

Through responsible tourism we would provide marketing facilities to their home made handicrafts, dry vegetables, pickles, traditional recipes, folk songs and dances. By using local means of transportation which is camel cart and bull cart and camel safaris we provide employment to the local uneducated people of villages.

Environmental responsibility

Most importantly we use and promote hand made cloth called Khadi and hand made products against machine made cloth and things produced in big industries which are most responsible for environmental pollution.

Social responsibility

Promoting rural way of life” is our main objective which includes every aspect of human life and preserving local culture is off course is an important part of this. We try to honour the villagers way of dressing, eating and homes to live and most importantly physical work which has been dishonoured in India ...
