Alentejo Adventures
Aims
Taste for adventure, contact with nature!
Alentejo Adventures ensures that all guides are fully qualified and equipment is of top quality.
Enjoyment without destruction. Alentejo Adventures respects unconditionally the local environment and encourages local education projects.
Alentejo Adventures spend time to identify the skill levels within the groups to ensure enjoyment by all. The “personal touch” is what we want our guests remember from their holiday by.
Education projects linked to nature conservation to contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
Economic Responsibility
Alentejo Adventures is wholly owned by Camposol, which has been integrated into the fabric of the local community since 1992. We are major employer in the area and support various community projects such as the Polytechnic College, old people homes, the fire and ambulance service and athletic and football teams.
Alentejo Adventures always uses local guides, guesthouses and restaurants who are paid at market rates.
Environmental Responsibility
Our activities are conducted within a Natural Park and all our customers are informed of the strict rules, which apply with regard to their impact on the environment laid down by the ICN (Instituto da Conservação da Natureza). These particulary apply to the constant walks along the dunes and posters and leaflets in our guesthouse emphasise the do’s and don’ts. As well as our route book notes.
Social Responsibility
Alentejo Adventures actively encourages our customers to interact with local community in a responsible manner. Our tour guides and route notes divulge invaluable tips on social behaviour, simple phrases of good mannered introduction, local customs and recommended restaurants and shops selling locally produced goods.
