Economic responsibility
The revenue from activities, guides, meals, homestays, etc. goes directly to the communities which then disperse it accordingly. In addition, there is 20% fee that goes directly into a community fund. Each village has a committee that decides on how to spend the money. Typical projects they hope to use the community fund for include a new floating pier, improved hiking trails, new community trails, waste management programs, etc.

Environmental responsibility
Most importantly, this program shows the villagers the importance to conserve their natural surroundings. By seeing tourists spend money to walk in, swim in, and awe at natural habitats, the local communities are learning the value in these given assets. They now want to do their best to conserve these environs.

Also form the fact that tourists spend money to see their traditional way of living, they are learning the importance of preserving their ways of life. This mentality will also help keep large size tourism (which usually brings environmental degradation) from entering their communities.

Social responsibility
These community based tourism programs were created and executed with constant collaboration from the host communities. It provides the local people with a complimentary source of income while still focussing on their traditional livelihoods. Some of the activities have also created new jobs and revenue for women that used to do nothing.
