1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

VILLAGE FIESTA which went on for 5 days. Live brass band parading around the narrow car-free streets. Seeing real rural Spanish life, about five hundred Spanish there for the summer vacation, joining in the fancy dress and religious processions. Usual village population is only about 50. Great public outdoor SWIMMING POOL open July - August, cost 3 Euros for day pass. ROOF TERRACE in our house, to relax on and enjoy the views.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Stock up with food beforehand, there are no shops in Quatretondeta. We walked to tiny shop in nearest village 2.5 hours round trip in searing heat! The 2 cafes in Quatretondeta served meals, but the food wasn't good enough to eat out every day.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We supported the village bars, and swimming pool but there wasn't much else to spend our euros on in this tiny village. We chose not to hire a car so we had very little environmental impact. We just walked in the local environment. We got the train from Valencia to Alcoy, 2 hour trip, which is amazingly cheap compared to UK. Tom (whose family own the cottage) drove us to and from the station, with stop at supermarket for supplies.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent for what we intended - experienced a real village fiesta. Relaxed. Immersed in Spanish culture, no other British there.
