1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The homestays were amazing, being able to interact with the families and learn about their lifestyles was wonderful. I also really enjoyed the time in Puerto Lopez. The CEO or guide for the trip was wonderful and made the trip memorable for me.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

It was very active which I loved but be ready for riding the local buses. One of the things that was not my most favourite part of the trip. Travel lightly as you have to carry (or roll) your bag in many places.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The company booked places that were locally owned and operated which was great. Also there was safe water provided in many places which reduced the need for bottled water, therefore reducing the waste.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was totally awesome, I really enjoyed this tour. The holiday provider is a great company with a really great travelling ethic.

review 3 May 2011

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Tunguruhua Volcano erupting whilst in Banos, walking around Cuicocha Crater lake, climbing Chimborazo volcano and visiting a funny little rainforest island in Tena.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If nature is your thing then I wouldn't go on this holiday, it's not really geared towards bird watching or animal spotting. If you want to soak up the culture and the people, to get a strong over-arching impression of Ecuador with a bit of everybody, and you don't mind spending a lot of time in towns then go for it.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes I did, we had two community homestays and whenever possible we travelled on public transport.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

My holiday was incredible, and I loved it, you really have to look around and see what is on offer in each place you go to though, some of my best memories are when myself and other party members struck out and made our own holiday.
