Sunoor Verma review 3 Sep 2012
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The construction of the houses is unique. Silence in the night is complete. The space utilization inside is admirable.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Confirm very clearly how many beds are there in the house. While I had communicated clearly that we are a family of four with kids 8 and 10, there were only three beds in the house. The owner had communicated that there is one double bed and one sofa bed. The sofa bed turned out to be a single folding bed. We joined the other two beds allowing three people to sleep.
Confirm in advance with the owner of the property that there is no construction work going on at the their third house. During our stay the works were in progress. We had to leave the property during the day and return only during evening so that we avoid the constant noise. In fact we decided to check out early morning instead of noon for this very reason. We pointed this out to the owner who sent us an email apologising. No refund was offered for the inconvenience.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It would have been helpful to be able to read more about how the design of this type of house saves on energy as it surely does.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
The stay was OK. The property seems better suited for singles and couples. Had there been a couple of sheep grazing in the garden, they would have added a much needed sense of life to the property. The place is great for writing, meditation etc as it feels very secluded yet within five minutes of driving you are in a city.
My daughters who did not mind the noise of construction enjoyed the house very much. For them it was out of a story book. The owner was very helpful and kind and helped in anyways he could.

I would like to thank the sympathy of family Sacoor Verma and thank him for having enjoyed our homes.
The houses are equipped with two single beds and a sofa bed (as you can see in the photographs on our website). But by the preceding guest have broken the left leg of the sofa bed had to put a rollaway bed, yes. We are sure that the level of comfort not lost quality, but it is true that they lost a little space.
I apologise for any inconvenience that the construction of the last wooden house we are constructing has caused, I tried to be the lowest possible, but it is not always possible, the place really invites a wonderful silence. At present the construction over and she finished with all noise, just hear again the sounds of nature.
To conclude I would say that the energetic saving is done through a mini hydro, which was built on a small river which causes need not be supplied public electricity network the water also a natural water reserves from own farm.
I hope I have been informative and once again apologise for our failures, because our objective is to have a sustainable and quality tourism. Since our region and the Peneda Geres National Park deserve.
