Most memorable? I think the Pyramids at Giza and the paintings in the tomb of Ramses I, or perhaps it was the gold mask of Tutankamun, or was it the statue of Ramses II at Memphis... it was always a jaw-dropping moment at each place we visited.

We had a fantastic time. The boat was beautiful, the staff were attentive and very competent. We met great people, ate delicious Turkish food every night and we were sailing the same ancient waters that mankind has sailed for eons. We felt a real connection to Turkey, history and sea.

The rice boat was the high light of our two weeks in India. Absolutely wonderful. The crew could not have looked after us better. We were fed sumptuously and frequently. The stopovers at night were beautiful and the boat itself charming. (more) |

The most exciting part was snorkelling into a cave whose entrance was only just on the waterline; the most memorable, difficult to say - the company (our group of 6 really gelled), the places we visited (that you can really only get to in a kayak), the islands and their people themselves......
