1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The boat trip to the Aeolian Islands was good value and although only a
day trip we had time to tour Lipari Island on the bus, very interesting and
beautiful. We also had time for a few hours on the beach and a swim on a Volcano.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
The self catering accommodation was excellent and back up from Carmelina and
her team also.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes the holiday benefited the local shop in San Ambrogio very much. I felt the trottoria however needs to "pull up their socks". They did not have local wine available and tried to sell wine by the bottle at inflated prices 18 euro when same wine is 14 on the Lungo Mare in Cefelu. They also only really had antipasti and pizza although they had an extensive menu... so what is that about. Service was friendly but need to improve if they want visitors to eat locally more than 1 or 2 evenings. I love staying local for food so hope they improve.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Wonderful. The mountains and the sea are beautiful in this region of Sicily.
