1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Seeing the Mountain Gorillas in their natural environment at very close hand - literally right next to them when they decided the quickest way to the next part of the forest was to walk right through our small group.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be well prepared for wet weather and very slippery/muddy conditions when trekking in Rwanda. And take 'gardening' gloves as the Parc Des Volcanos is full of very large stinging nettles and thorny plants. And use a porter - they not only carry your belonging but provide a safe pair of hands when climbing up and down the most 'challenging' areas.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

People trekking the gorillas and other animals are a crucial source of income for the local people who act as porters and guides and give them a reason to help support the wildlife.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

9/10 (only because of the challenge of numerous flights and general travel issues impact on the overall experience)

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Sitting watching the gorillas so very close and seeing them looking back at us with almost a sense of recognition was magical.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If you've ever remotely thought that you might like this, go - it's amazing. You don't need to be super-fit but it would help. I had a wonderful porter who literally hauled me up the mountain!!!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I do. The more the local people can realise that gorilla tourism brings a certain prosperity, they will help to preserve these amazing creatures.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

THE best thing I have ever done, can't wait to go back. The operator did absolutely everything to make this trip run to the best. Very well organised, we all felt very secure and well looked after.
