Gary Remekie review 20 Nov 2005
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
I enjoyed so many things about my holiday, I had a truly fantastic time but if I had to choose I would say the hill-tribe trek, that was a great experience for many reasons, I especially loved seeing the tribes & the breath-taking landscape it was unbelievable I thought, a special experience.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
To travel as lightly as possible during the hill-tribe trek as it can be rather demanding especially the first day & make sure you have the correct footwear. Be prepared for a fantastic holiday as it really did exceed my expectations in many ways, its such fast-paced, action packed itinerary. This was the first time l had travelled alone but after meeting so mant great like-minded people in my group I have no regrets & look forward to my next trip alone.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
I did feel it benefited them in some ways i.e. financially & hopefully they enjoyed integrating with people from other cultures. I felt the impact on their envoironment was minimal as there seemed to be very little changes in order to accomodate us as guests which can only be in their best interests.
4. Any other comments?
Overall I would rate this holiday as me being reborn & simply the best holiday I have been on, certainly in terms of the itinerary, we managed to get so many different things acheived & there was also adequate freetime allocated to do your own thing which was invaluable & all important. I am already planning my next trip for next year.
