1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The stunning location of the farmstay - spectacular views, and we were extremely fortunate to have glorious weather for two of our three days. Also good, close proximity to town (short drive), which turned out to be the best dining option with our two young boys.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Leave your children at home! Whilst our 5 and 7 year olds were made very welcome, we weren't able to indulge in the wonderful smelling dinners that were available each night because our kids are not yet of an age to be able to enjoy relaxed dining with. It would be a fabulous romantic getaway weekend, with somebody else babysitting!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Supported local business.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Four out of five. We had a lovely time.

Our holiday in Umbria was absolutely fantastic! The accommodation was beautiful and Francesco and Monia (the owners) took great care refurbishing the old farm house, being sensitive to the architecture, nature and the Umbrian tradition. We felt really looked after with all of our requests answered (and with a 10 months old baby there are always some strange requests...)
The location is very convenient just on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, we were spoiled for choice. I very much recommend this accommodation, from very romantic to a family holiday, it can fit to all. The only downside was the weather which was colder and wetter than London (!) but this is not so typical to Italy on March.
I also want to thank you at Responsible Travel for a wonderful service (including the Rough Guide which was a great help for visiting all the beautiful places). We will definitely use your website on our next trip.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The house was beautiful and the surrounding garden (fantastic olive groves) and swimming pool. House staff were all very nice and accommodating.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don't expect a really quiet holiday - Italians don't do quiet! The house is ideal for family with very young kids, as the house is relaxed and child friendly. As the house has many people working in it, and children living there, although all delightful, does not provide a truly quiet and peaceful atmosphere (although it is very relaxed and the people are wonderful).
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, the staff where employed locally and seemed to enjoy their jobs. All were very friendly and understood the importance of 'agritourismo'. Lots of organic products available. Impacts on the environment were minimised, but would hope to see for example, more use of energy efficient light bulbs, and perhaps filtered water rather than bottled water. No recycling is available in rural parts of Lake Trasimeno, so all resources used (eg bottles) go to landfill.
4. Any other comments?
Three stars. I would definitely go again, but without the expectation of peace and quiet!
