1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The Blue Mountains and this accommodation was the second part of our Australian honeymoon and probably the most memorable/best (and the other places were fantastic). The Writers' Retreat was amazing. The bedroom we chose was magic and I'll never forget going down the escarpment garden to the cliff walk at the bottom - that was brilliant. This accommodation completely excelled itself with the hamper and goodies that were provided. I was like a kid in a sweetshop - the hamper was the BEST and the bath goodies, chocolates and fruit were generous and gorgeous.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Contact Tim at the eco-tours place and book a walk - we did a fantastic walk to Wentworth Falls. Going on solo walks too is brilliant but it's great to have a guide to interpret the landscape for you as you go.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, we ate local (The Rooster is brilliant - we arrived late in Katoomba for dinner and they kept the kitchen open for us) and all the goodies in the hampers were locally sourced.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

This accommodation merits a 5 star - it's really special accommodation and having the cliff walk at the bottom of the garden is a big plus and Mango (!) is hilarious...

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Check out the new emerging wine region around Murrumbateman near Canberra. Beautiful, relaxing countryside, lots of vineyards (!). You need a car!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

You need to enjoy driving around. The towns of Yass and Wee Jasper are nearby. As are delights of unsealed roads. forestry, the snowy mountains. Probably enough to do for 3 or 4 days.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Really enjoyed it - unique location, very comfortable, fab breakfasts. And enjoyed feeding the local parrots who regularly visit - delightful. Felt that our contribution was through eating local foods (amazing breads, chocolates, jams etc), dining at the local restuarants.
