1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Sunset in the dunes, sitting, chatting and laughing with the whole group - with all of whom great bonds were formed.
Everyone contributed to the comeraderie, no-one was left out or took a back-seat, including the guides and camel drivers.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Buy a shesh before you get to the desert.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Hopefully the local people benefitted from our purchases of bottled water and a few souvenirs. Some books, pens etc were left at a school.
I don't think this particular holiday had any detrimental effect on the local environment but it's hard to see how it could positively impact on the environment or conservation without adding specifically to the itinerary.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

First class

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Sitting on sand dunes drinking mint tea, being regailed by our guide Lahsim, but pretty much all of it was incredible.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Pack as light as possible as you'll need as much room in your bags for goodies in Marrakech! Also, learn some French or even better Arabic to impress the locals - it really comes in handy!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I hope that my holiday benefitted local people by supporting tourism and we did not impact on the environment at all.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Lahsim our guide, AD the cook and Yusef the camel driver were particular highlights and overall I'd say the holiday was fantastic.

Just got back from Desert Adventure in Morocco. We had a fantastic time. The experience was everything we hoped for. Azziz our guide was efficient, good humoured, attentive and caring, and we can't fault the team of men, which even included Michael Palin's camel guide Esau. Food on the trek was excellent - healthy, fresh, beautifully presented. One evening we ate bread baked under the embers of a campfire. We always arrived at the camp set up after a days trek. The weather allowed us to sleep under the starriest sky I have ever seen and we had some memorable evenings being entertained by and entertaining the men, on one occasion around a campfire. They sang traditional love songs with water containers and washing up bowls for frums, and we reciprocated with such classics as Down By the RiverSide and Old MacDonald had a farm. It was wonderfully incongruous to see the guys cracking up as they each made camel noises, or meows etc, trying to sync with here a .... there a ... everywhere a ...

The local people we passed along the way were gentle and courteous. We were a bit of a novelty as according to Azziz our route was not used that many times in a year, and we didn't feel intrusive. So thanks for providing such a great holiday.

The only query I have is the reason for Jane and I being the only people to have to get up at 3.30 on the last morning to find our own way to the airport, and then wait until 12.20 at Casablanca to join the others going to Heathrow on the same plane. I would understand this if we had been the last to book, but we booked way back, I think there were 3 others booked at that time. But that is just a little niggle at the end of an otherwise perfect week.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The campfire and the singing on the 3rd night in the desert, close to the dunes.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

I brought with me too much luggage. There is no need to carry to much clothes: better to have a few t-shirt, one pair of trousers and a very heavy jumper for the chilly evenings.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I think yes. About the impact on the environment I think it is possible to do even better and carry the garbage back to the town instead of bury/burning it. I wonder if won't be also possible to give the spare food to the locals instead than dumping it.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Great! I loved it a lot!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Sleeping under the stars, riding through picturesque villages, meeting some local people, and dining on the most wonderful Moroccan food in the desert.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Bring some Imodium or anti-diarrhoeal. I was very unlucky, and contacted some food poisoning. This happened after the tour was over, but the tour guide was still very helpful. He took me to a clinic, and made sure that I was healthy enough to go home.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes; local Berber camel drivers were employed. This not only gave us more cultural exposure, but it gave them an alternative income to their normal activities. We were also careful not to leave any trash behind, and not to waste anything unnecessary.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was an excellent holiday! I would highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure. The guide was very knowledgeable, the food was excellent, and the itinerary kept everything very interesting. It was also very well organized, as the company provides very good before and after sales care.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Getting caught in two sandstorms.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Know that you are not going to be moving very quickly during the hikes.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I do not think we benefited local people. We had an impact on the environment - but not a huge one.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was a very enjoyable holiday.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The isolation of the trip in certain areas made it unforgettable. There really is nothing like sleeping under the stars in the Sahara.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Remember you will be tipping a lot. The guide states you will be expected to tip, but make sure you have enough cash for this as it occurs frequently i.e driver, camel guides, cooks, group leader...

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Definitely. It most certainly had a positive effect on the local environments the trip visited.

4. Any other comments?

Firstly, I'd like to stess how much a great time me and my partner had on the Moroccan Desert Adventure trip. Every detail was catered for and the organisation was exceptional. On a personal note, id like to thank the group leader Abdul who really puts in extra personal time for the guests. I will be booking again with you and am recommending the trip to my friends and family, who are already showing interest after seeing my pictures. Thank you again. I'll be back next year!!!
