1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Scenic and serene, our stay was idyllic. Aside from the beautiful location, our hosts - Trevor and Debbie Benton - made us feel so comfortable and welcome that it felt like home. We stayed during the Christmas holiday and the Bentons included our family in their Christmas Eve celebrations. Trevor showed us some great ski trails at the nearby ski area and, overall, we could not have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing holiday.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
This is a terrific four season place to stay. The Salzkammergut region offers recreation throughout the year and the accommodation is right in the middle of it all. Bring your camera - the views are stunning.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
This is about as local as you can get. Obertraun is a small village and all of your tourist money goes right back into the town. Every place we visited was locally owned and operated.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
This was a wonderful holiday. We went with our two children - ages 10 and 15 - and everyone had a really nice time. I was telling my friends about it even before we left. Great memories of a beautiful white Christmas.
