1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The "Guilin/Yangshuo" segment was the most enjoyable, the place was scenic and relaxing, and we had lots of options for activities from kung fu to cooking class.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
1) Travellers cheques are not the most convenient form of currency; ATMs are available in the large towns and the hotels change US Dollars at competitive rates;
2) Do walk with toilet paper especially for the train journeys
3) Be prepared for the eastern toilets (in the ground) and for some discomfort as you adjust to the change
4) Coffee is expensive in china so walk /buy instant packs if you need your caffeine
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, we tipped the drivers etc and used local services /restaurants; we still used trains and aeroplanes so there was impact on the environment
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was great and I felt I got value for money. I would not have been able to do this on my own since I don't know the language and appreciated the services that were provided by your organisation.
.
Our guide was excellent and while our group generally got along, there was however 1 person who did not eat pork and an occasion where 80% of the group wanted to go somewhere and only 3 persons wanted to stick to the itinerary, but she handled all situations very well.
