1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
This was the best holiday I have had in a long time and I travel frequently as I am retired. Everything about the accommodation is first class, from the moment you are met on arrival, through the delicious and wonderful meals, the oh so cozy bedroom and the exquisite decor of the house. The best home cooked meals I have had in years. And all of this provided with a smile and graciousness one would only expect to receive at an expensive hotel in the heart of London. My walks were terrific because the B&B is well situated in the heart of the Highlands, so there were no obstacles to getting going! Most memorable part? The whole stay!
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don't miss Fiona's meals! Really!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Definitely because Simon and Fiona put deeds to words. They use an amazing range of local products, from jams, soaps, biscuits, fruits, the full complement of vegetables, many grown right in their garden. They make sure you are aware of local points of interest, which one can visit and of course support with your trade or purchase. For example, the Highland Folk Museum is not only an "attraction", it truly is a worthwhile place to visit. In fact, admission is free, yet one will inevitably feel moved to provide a donation for its upkeep. So if you begin from the point of using local products and artisans, then you will eliminate the waste involved in transporting goods from far away. The products that are used are virtual all Fair Trade and organic. Also, there is no excessive washing and wasting of sheets and towels.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Well, I suppose I have already answered it above. Which means, here, I would simply emphasize that Simon and Fiona demonstrate how a B&B can be operated in a complete eco-friendly way and yet not sacrifice the comfort and service and even luxury amenities would likes to receive on vacation, including the towels and sheets I mentioned above. Proves you can provide luxury without being wasteful. I could not recommend a vacation at the B&B more highly.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
B&B was excellent with very comfortable accommodation, great food, wonderful Highland stoneware crockery (a personal favourite) and fantastic facilities with a drying room, washing machine, fridge and microwave for the use of guests. Our hosts were very personable, knowledgeable and attentive.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Head up the valley for a drive and walk - it is truly beautiful and so peaceful.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Our hosts make every effort to minimise the impact on the environment whilst not compromising the experience for their guests. And their custom certainly supports the local community and shop.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had a wonderful break - I am delighted that we chose to go there. We have discovered a gem of an area that we knew little about and we found a great place to stay too!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

To a certain extent as we purchased food and drink locally and spent one day without using the car.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Fiona and Simon are terrific hosts. Lots of information on the area, tips and advice without ever intruding. Great accommodation. Attention to detail and very thoughtful approach to providing the "things" that make your holiday easier. Oh yes - and wonderful food.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
You will not find a nicer B&B to stay in the Cairngorm area... It is obviously popular with lots of returning guests, so think about booking ahead.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Fiona and Simon obviously work very hard to involve many aspects of their local community. The local community "network" that they have is a major contribution to the holiday experience.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Great thanks.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
I would highly recommend other travellers to have Fiona and Simon cook them dinner one night - we had an amazing mushroom risotto and a rhubarb and custard tarte which I am still dreaming about a week later!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
The organic, locally grown food was a major plus point.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had a great time. The B&B was clean and comfortable and Fiona and Simon had a wealth of information about the local area and had recommendations for activities for rainy and sunny days.

The wonderful Cairngorm National Park. It snowed, the log fire at the B & B was very welcoming.

Four days is not long enough. Next time we'll be staying for at least a week.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, all the food was sourced locally, organic or fair trade. Eco friendly products in bathroom. Recycling facilities.

A wonderfully relaxing holiday in a great location. The B&B was the best I have ever stayed in, the owners are really friendly, the breakfast and dinner was fantastic and the bed was soo comfy. I'll definitely be returning.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The owners, Fiona and Simon. Lovely, welcoming people. Their food and service is exceptional.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Ensure that you can manage in the area without public transport of which there is none! I did fine without transport for three days; longer than that I may have found difficult without transport.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on theenvironment?

Most of the food and non foodstuffs used at the accommodation are eco sourced. My walks in the area had no detrimental impact on the environment! I bought at the local shop and the local pottery cafe/shop; I visited local museum, and heritage centre both of which benefit local people financially and by spreading information about the area.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
I had a really good break and feel refreshed by it. I enjoyed wonderful scenery and wildlife. Local people very friendly. Yes it was very good.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Our hosts Simon and Fiona advised us as amateur birdwatchers to visit a local site. The visit proved successful when we saw a golden eagle - a first for us, and also a herd of wild deer. The rest of our time was packed with lots of activities all within easy range - like hiking up the cairngorms, bike trails, observing ospreys and local walks.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared for all weather conditions - we did not pack sun tan cream!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Local facilities were great-like the local shop, hotels for meals - really enjoyed Blasta in Newtonmore.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Simon and Fiona were excellent hosts-good food, lots of advice and showing interest in us not just doing their bit. This is a luxury B&B!

Just ask Simon and Fiona anything. They are a wonderful resource for things to do.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
I could not think of anything the Dodds could do better. They are highly implicated in the locality and consider the environment in everything they do, to a level beyond I have encountered before.

Fantastic holiday, absolutely wonderful B&B, top marks in every respect. A thoroughly rejuvenating experience for body and soul. So many nice touches, too many to mention.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
There was not one isolated moment just a lovely holiday, friendly owners, good hearty breakfasts, very high standard of room which had plenty of room for the 2 dogs as well and of course the location - stunning views from outside the B&B - plenty of walks to explore just need a lot longer there.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take advantage of the lovely sitting room with plenty of both informative and fictional literature.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Good explanations provided if interested into the measures which they are undertaking in order to reduce their impact which was informative, with a definite emphasis on local/homegrown/made organic produce.
