1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most memorable part was the actual one to one life coaching sessions and being able to do these at a comfortable and relaxing hotel. This was part of a 10-week sabbatical / self-discovery journey away from work and I had already organised the beginning and end of my trip and wasn’t too sure what to do in between. I am so glad I found this on the Responsible Travel website as this was the best part, and at the right part, of my time away, and I felt I was in the right headspace to make the most of it.

To be able to get away from your daily routines and fully immerse yourself into a life coaching programme is, I think, far more beneficial than trying to work one into your everyday life. You couldn’t have asked for better a coach than Chrissy who has the most amazing coaching experience and seriously listens to you and helps you to realise your potential and help you make changes in your life. Son has an amazing talent in sharing his fantastic knowledge of Thailand and Chiang Mai and taking you on some memorable tours of the city as well as making you feel so welcome as soon as you step off the plane. The two of them make a great team.

I also went to an elephant nature park which was a moving and memorable experience to be able to see, feed, touch and bathe the rescued elephants. And by far the most exciting part of my time in Chiang Mai outside of the life coaching was the ziplining at the Flight of the Gibbon in the jungle which is probably something I wouldn’t have tried at home.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Just enjoy it and make the most of your life coaching sessions. If you can, try and book a little longer than a week. I found the coaching sessions (and homework) to be quite intense and found it good to have been able to spread out a 7 day programme over 10 days so there was spare time to relax, reflect and have some fun. Don’t worry too much about booking up excursions beforehand as Son helps you when you get there and happily takes care of the arrangements for you.

If you attract mosquitoes, be sure to take some Tiger Balm to soothe the bites!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes I did. There were many opportunities to buy gifts hand-made by local people and the hotel (Puripunn Baby Grand Boutique Hotel) had adopted the widespread water conservation policy at many hotels around the laundry of towels and linen.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent. This was a memorable (and life changing!) experience.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most memorable part of the holiday was the life coaching that we had and, a fantastic highlight, the excursion to the elephant sanctuary.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Just enjoy! This holiday was quite flexible - we could have done more excursions to see more of Thailand, but we chose to have a rest also. The coaching already took time, and we saw and experienced some of Thailand which was beautiful. There is always the option to go back and discover more. Be prepared for a bit of tiredness to start off with - it took me a few days to no longer wake up at night and synch in with the local day/night rhythm.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, the hotel was Thai-owned and run. The elephant sanctuary had an ethical brief, i.e. no riding of elephants etc.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Brilliant, 9 out of 10.
