1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Local boat trips spotting a Brydes whale, a sea turtle, and three different dolphin species doing their stuff in the Atlantic. Valle Gran Rey on La Gomera is a lovely warm laid back getaway with fine black sands, sheer cliffs, steep mountains, pretty villages and national park forest at the top.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Make sure you check directions before setting off on walks off the coast, or in National Park, as it can be a bit far between signposts and a little confusing!
Try the fish or a 'cortado leche leche' (short black coffee with 2 types of milk) at the bar on the port wharf, or the homemade tapas or fresh squeezed fruit juice at the little cafe opposite La Puntilla. Delicious!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Definitely low impact tourism with your money well spent at local pension, shops, cafes, buses and boat tour operators rather than supporting ugly high-rise tourism .
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent. Carol from accommodation was extremely helpful in offering local information. She and Fernandes, and their father Domingo were always helpful and welcoming.
