Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We enjoyed this accommodation located in the Andes near La Luguna Quilitoa. It is a hiker's paradise and the staff arrange for guides for hikers and those choosing to go by horseback. The facilities are gorgeous and home-cooked dinners are wonderful.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Please go with an open mind to learn how we can truly love our planet and practice the stewardship to give back to it. It took only 4 hours by hired jeep to get to this accommodation. It is also possible to travel by bus, but is a longer ride.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Absolutely.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Fantastic. I think ecotourism is the way to go.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most exciting part of the holiday would have to be the hike back from the Quilotoa Crater. Outstanding.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

I would stay 6 nights - 4 was not enough to truly enjoy everything the place had to offer.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

The impact on the environment was definitely minimized.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

The holiday was outstanding - everything I thought it would be and more. The owners and people who work there are wonderful and they make sure you enjoy your time at the lodge.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Incredible views, inspiring people.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Spend a couple of days getting to the altitude if you are coming from sea level, you need to be able to be active here, there is so much to see.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Absolutely. The inn was amazing and we took home a lot of ideas about how we would like to rework our house to emulate some of the environmentally responsible technology there. We also had a horseback riding guide who was a local who actually talked to us about how much the tourism from the inn there has benefited local families and the school.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Truly Inspirational!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The beauty was the most memorable part of my trip, it was breathtaking

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Ask for a room with a wood burning stove

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was wonderful. My only complaint is that although our impact on the community was clearly described in the web site, it wasn't felt so much in the trip. We were fairly isolated from the community around us. ***
