1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Cycling to various small villages, eating at the local pubs & eating blackberries by the side of the road.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Bring warm clothes, whatever the season. Ask for the full Irish breakfast wherever you go - it grows on you. Eat the goat cheese in filo pastry at the Derg Inn - and the chocolate soufflé (to die for). And go out into the open.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I guess it did benefit the local people, inasmuch as we ate at the local pubs and bought stuff from the local stores in the area.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was an excellent retreat, and exactly what I was looking for: a small, warm, friendly place, far from the big city life. The pace of life is different, and although you do have a TV set in the cottage, I was never tempted to turn it on. The CD player came in handy, though. The people around are welcoming without being intrusive, the hosts are friendly and helpful, and the landscape is the greenest I've seen yet. An excellent holiday.

My weekend visit to the farm was short but very relaxing. I had forgotten what quiet sounded like and it was a joy to be able to see the sky without the usual city lights. The cottage, which was cosy, was like stepping back to my childhood holidays on a rural farm but with hot running water and heating! It was lovely to be able to walk around such a peaceful spot and definitely worth packing good walking shoes. The village of Tullyglass is very pretty and not at all spoilt with a lovely pub and restaurant. Niall was very welcoming and helpful which I really appreciated. I had a most enjoyable stay and would recommend staying here.
