Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Staying ina remote monastery, only accessible by a 3Km walk up the mountain.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Pack light, take few clothes and have them laundered regularly in a Chinese launderette. Eat down the hutongs - it's fun, it's cheap and the Chinese people will be as curious about you as you will be about them.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, our leader was excellent. He encouraged us to interact with locals (and put things in perspective when talking to them about Western life and Chinese life), use local services (not hotel ones) and not to use disposable chopsticks. We always had a local guide and tried to spread our money around the community.
