Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

A great mix of people meant that everyone settled in and had a really enjoyable week.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Go along with an open mind and ready to put in some hard work. However tired you get though the reward from a good day's work are well worth it.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

The holiday definitely benefited that environment and it was clear that the work we were doing was appreciated by the local community; the amount of cakes, scones and fresh homemade cookies delivered to the worksite from the local residents each day definitely made us feel valued.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

A great experience and something that I would love to do again.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

I'm amazed at my own abilities: I never thought I could saw down trees, lift heavy logs etc (-with the guidance of leaders and the help of other volunteers). Clearing brambles or undergrowth from paths was also tough work but again very rewarding to see the end-result. Also the mini-project of building a windshelter. Sorry there wasn't just one memorable/exciting part.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Make sure you take protective clothes or clothes that are not too precious. Working around brambles takes its toll on less-protective clothing. Otherwise the details from the holiday brief were enough.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. It relates more to the environment, though of course as it is already managed by local people, the work would have benefitted them too.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Somewhere between 4-5 stars
