Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Sitting on sand dunes drinking mint tea, being regailed by our guide Lahsim, but pretty much all of it was incredible.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Pack as light as possible as you'll need as much room in your bags for goodies in Marrakech! Also, learn some French or even better Arabic to impress the locals - it really comes in handy!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I hope that my holiday benefitted local people by supporting tourism and we did not impact on the environment at all.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Lahsim our guide, AD the cook and Yusef the camel driver were particular highlights and overall I'd say the holiday was fantastic.

Being part of the caravan in the desert.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take a mixture of warm clothes for the evening and night and cooler clothes for the day time.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Definitely.

4. Any other comments?

This was my first adventure holiday and I will definitely be going on more. Our group leader was brilliant and the food was excellent.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The isolation of the trip in certain areas made it unforgettable. There really is nothing like sleeping under the stars in the Sahara.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Remember you will be tipping a lot. The guide states you will be expected to tip, but make sure you have enough cash for this as it occurs frequently i.e driver, camel guides, cooks, group leader...

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Definitely. It most certainly had a positive effect on the local environments the trip visited.

4. Any other comments?

Firstly, I'd like to stess how much a great time me and my partner had on the Moroccan Desert Adventure trip. Every detail was catered for and the organisation was exceptional. On a personal note, id like to thank the group leader Abdul who really puts in extra personal time for the guests. I will be booking again with you and am recommending the trip to my friends and family, who are already showing interest after seeing my pictures. Thank you again. I'll be back next year!!!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The campfire and the singing on the 3rd night in the desert, close to the dunes.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

I brought with me too much luggage. There is no need to carry to much clothes: better to have a few t-shirt, one pair of trousers and a very heavy jumper for the chilly evenings.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

I think yes. About the impact on the environment I think it is possible to do even better and carry the garbage back to the town instead of bury/burning it. I wonder if won't be also possible to give the spare food to the locals instead than dumping it.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Great! I loved it a lot!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Sleeping under the stars, riding through picturesque villages, meeting some local people, and dining on the most wonderful Moroccan food in the desert.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Bring some Imodium or anti-diarrhoeal. I was very unlucky, and contacted some food poisoning. This happened after the tour was over, but the tour guide was still very helpful. He took me to a clinic, and made sure that I was healthy enough to go home.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes; local Berber camel drivers were employed. This not only gave us more cultural exposure, but it gave them an alternative income to their normal activities. We were also careful not to leave any trash behind, and not to waste anything unnecessary.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was an excellent holiday! I would highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure. The guide was very knowledgeable, the food was excellent, and the itinerary kept everything very interesting. It was also very well organized, as the company provides very good before and after sales care.
