Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Hiking and sleeping under the stars in the Dogon country.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don't take too many clothes but remember the hand washing powder. Take lots of cash because there are so many beautiful things to buy. Take a novel to read during the (very relaxing) boat trip. Don't take gifts for the children, this just encourages them to beg from tourists. Instead take malaria medicine (treatment, not prevention) to give or ask your tour leader to arrange a visit to a local school and give your gifts to the teachers.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes. I really appreciated having a local Malian as a tour guide, it give fabulous insights into the people and culture. At least some of the hotels were locally owned by Malians too.
