The tour was fantastic. It felt like a very genuine experience with a Peruvian family. It gave me exactly what so many of us want when we go on holiday: being able to see what other people's lives are like in a culture different to our own, without being too intrusive; I was able to visit a remote place somewhere well off the beaten track; it was very relaxing and yet really interesting and a great deal of fun at the same time.
Finally, I felt very looked after - I didn't have to worry about not being able to speak the language, having to organise transport etc and most of the food was provided as part of the tour price and was fantastic quality. It was excellent value for money and helped me enjoy the rest of my time in Peru even more. Highly recommended!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Experiencing the people and culture in a very direct and immediate way unlike a traditional tour where you feel as if you are looking through a window this experience is like being inside the window.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It’s a great holiday if you wish to give of yourself in some way, the families who receive a stove are truly grateful and it changes their lives.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Building stoves for local Peruvian families helps reduce the ill-effects of smoke-filled kitchens. The stoves and chimneys reduce the amount of smoke children, women and really all family members are exposed to using traditional open fires and everyone participates in the building of the stove - the collective effort and satisfaction is priceless.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Great holiday.
