1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Reaching Dead Woman’s Pass - never thought I would do it. The bonus was then viewing and learning about Machu Picchu and experiencing just a small part of different lifestyles.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
To make sure they give themselves at least a couple of days to acclimatise to the altitude before starting the trail.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Not sure about this. I guess it provides employment for the local people but I really hope the tourist is not allowed to 'take over' in years to come. I feel very strongly that this area has so much to offer without needing 'trimmings' associated with other tourist destinations. If one is not prepared to rough it a bit then don't go.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Fantastic. At the very top of my travel experiences.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
I would just like to say that overall the holiday was fantastic. I was very impressed with the service and commitment on all facets that you the travel group took responsibility for. It was a very real pleasure to know that when you, your reps, said you would arrange the details you did. All transfers to, from airports and the trek were handled with care and with a very welcoming and friendly air. This is a huge plus as quite often it is precisely this that causes so much agitation and grief. As to the trek. Simply awesome. The mountains were incredible, the scenery, the ruins et al. The guide assigned to our group, Edwin, I think should be noted as he was very knowledgeable on both local fauna and local history and clearly took huge pride in his country. Edwin's willingness to help and his knowledge of language made the trek work under humorous and good care. Most memorable......surviving day 2 of the trek where we climbed 4,000 feet and walked about 10-11 miles.....very tough but very satisfying when we completed it.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Tips...pack as light as possible. At 4,000 meters you can feel the difference a pound of weight makes. Also don't overload on water as this can be purchased at various points throughout the trek.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
The locals hopefully will have benefited. Peru is clearly a poorer country and the tips(very important on the treks) and money spent in local markets (Pisac was particularly good on the Tuesday morning) was clearly appreciated and makes a huge difference. We found out that the local rate was less than 1 usd an hour so clearly any spend by us will help. Impact on the environment was negligible. All waste was cleared at the campsites and hopefully whilst walking the trail we did not cause too much damage to local plants/vegetation.
4. Any other comments?
Other comments.....how on earth do the porters do all that work on the trail ! As to stars, can't say I'm reborn....chance would be a fine thing !!! but I would say this was a fantastic experience and one of the very best holidays I have had. Once again thank you for this.
