Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The most memorable part was definitely the ice-climbing. It's something I've always wanted to do, it was in a beautiful, unspoilt spot and the guides were excellent. Also, where we stayed was great with home-cooked five course meals every night and a sauna, which was very welcome after a long hard day outdoors.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
I would encourage them just to book regardless of their experience and fitness, as Mel and Liz were great at adapting it to our individual needs. Also, I would not hesitate going on your own - I did and felt so welcome and comfortable. It's also only 45 minutes from Nice, so definitely accessible by train and Mel and Liz were very flexible about collecting and dropping us of.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, as we stayed in a locally-owned B&B, the guides were fully qualified alpine guides from there who knew the area like the back of their hands and a lot of our food was sourced locally - excellent cheeses and locally sourced meat and vegetables, including from a local organic farm in the summer.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Definitely **** and excellent value for money, as virtually everything was included (equipment, guiding transfers and all the wine we could drink.)
