We had an absolutely fantastic time & he was a great guide, where nothing was too much trouble. Our tour around Marrakech was really interesting and informative as we had already had 3 days there under our own steam, and thought we had seen it all. Nouradine took us to parts we would never have discovered such as the ironworks, bakers and drug stores.

The most memorable part of the trip was without doubt the mountain trek on the mules -the scenery was fantastic and our 2 boys had a most wonderful time with their donkeys and their guides who resembled Jawa's from star wars which is every boy's fantasy! I would even go so far as to say that you underplay the greatness of this part of the trip!

Essaouria was another fantastic city in Morocco and we had the added bonus of the King being in town! To improve the trip even more I would suggest another night being had in Essaouria as it is a great place to relax after the hectic nature of Marrakech and the trekking - it could make the trip a 9 day instead of an 8 day trip & all our fellow travellers supported this suggestion! I have attached some picture just in case you wanted to see what a great time we had !!! Thanks for a great holiday.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Essaouria - an intriguing pirate harbour fortress, with local restaurants in the souk, and camel rides on the beach.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't travel Royal Air Maroc! Check ahead to ensure that tour guides, hotels etc really are expecting you to bring young children!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Local people benefited from our spending, especially Berber villagers who provide donkey treks. On the -ve side, tourist brochures featuring photos of snake charmers (and dancing monkeys) do little for animal welfare! Also no doubt the tourist industry is a major contributor to the demands for water in Morocco, to which the government is responding with massive programme of dam construction in the Atlas.

4. Any other comments?

4 stars for the venue and the experience. 2 stars for the operator, the itinerary was not taxing but apart from that they had made no effort whatsoever to ensure that facilities were infant-friendly.

Read the operator's response here:

We always appreciate feedback. We’ve never before had any comments about the suitability of our Morocco trips for families with young children. Morocco is a fantastic child friendly country and on our ‘Magical Morocco’ trip we stay in a different base in the Atlas Mountains from our other programmes. This base offers easy walks for small children and mule support – which we feel adds a sense of fun to the proceedings. Child and booster seats are not provided, but our transport does have seatbelts to enable you to fix your own seat. There are a couple of longer drives to and from Essaouira but otherwise we have cut down the driving times. At the time of booking travellers must also let us know if they will require a cot to be provided in the hotel rooms and we will make arrangements for this.

Fantastic holiday, met some great people, saw some amazing places. Our guide, Youssef, went out of his way to ensure every one was looked after and that we went to places off the beaten tourist track. Thanks!

On the negative side - the flight was delayed both ways, so we didn't arrive until the middle of the night, and therefore Marrakesh was a lot more than we could handle on the first day. Also, the weather was a lot colder than we were led to expect, so we didn't take enough warm clothing.

My son was the youngest of our party (6yrs old) and started to flag a bit, but things were flexible enough for us to opt out of an excursion and have a rest day in the middle of the week. Both the children have come back full of their Morocco experience. I am being told to attach some of our photos as I write this, so I will!

We will definitely book with you again, maybe Egypt next.
