Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The most exciting part was experiencing first hand the African culture and being given the opportunity to be see so many things that other tourist don't get the chance to experience. There were so many memorable times - being so close to nature and being able to help such a worthy cause and to see the benfits the volunteers bring.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Definiately take plenty of DEET mosquito spray... we were there in the rainy season and there was plenty of 'biting' insects. Things over there are pretty cheap and theres a Barclays bank just up the road so theres no need to take much cash with you. Don't take good clothes, we carried out quite manual dirty work so nothing too clean and tidy was required. Definitely go on safari aswell - we did a 3 day Safari to Tsavo which was fantastic, the people at the site will be able to recommend the best operator to go with.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
The trip definitely benfited the local environment as we did a fair bit of tree planting which was really satisfying, these trees in return will provide food for the colobus monkeys which are fast becoming extinct. We assisted in maintaining colobridges and also trimming trees around power lines which cause dangers to the monkeys. We also helped the local community build a visitors centre which when completed will bring money into the area.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
This was by far a holiday of a life time and have no regrets apart from it not being long enough!
