Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Seeing dolphins play in the wake off the bow of our yacht!
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Bring snorkel and fins if you have them.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Not really - the only green initiative was a notice in reception asking yachters not to use too much shampoo. Apart from that, there was little evidence that this was greener than any other holiday.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent - we've had some lifetime experiences here.

Dear Simon - great to hear that you've had some lifetime experiences on your yachting holiday. Sailing can be inspirational on so many levels and many don't realise how accessible it all is - we've been teaching people to sail in the Med for nearly 30 years now - so now there are no excuses even for the novice! Was sorry to hear however that you felt we were not supporting the responsible travel piece - I have spoken with our yacht manager in Greece and she assures me that our ‘welcome brief’ scripts cover off many aspects of responsible travel whilst living aboard. Much of this is common sense and it is possible that guests don’t see some of the features we fit as standard to many of our boats ands the improvement s we are making to the additions to our yacht fleets.
Top Tips for living aboard include :
• Don’t use too much soap or shampoo as it does not go into the ‘holding tank’ – but is flushed into the sea (we are looking at fitting ‘grey water holding tanks’ – to get around this problem when showering aboard) – most flotilla stops will have suitable shore-based showering facilities for guests to use.
• Don’t throw any rubbish over the side even organic waste
• Pump holding tanks in open sea not near harbours or beaches
• Do not disturb or harm marine life when swimming or snorkelling
• We provide free fuel (diesel & Gas) – do not refuel but ask our engineers to do it we have a procedure for any spillages that may occur
• Shops will sell items in plastic carrier bags – re0use these as bin bags when onboard and dispose of at each harbour.
• Sail rather than motor where you can!
• Guests are encouraged to share any further good ideas they may have.
From a company side
• All our yachts are fitted with waste water holding tanks ensuring harbours and anchorages are kept clean – waste is pumped out in open sea
• All new yachts are fitted with solar panels – reducing engine use to cool fridges
• Spares and equipment is sourced locally where possible to support local economy and reduce delivery miles
• We source as much local labour as possible to support the local economy
• Batteries and engine oils are re-used or recycled
• We are part of the Royal Yachting Association ‘Blue Green Initiative’ – all boats carry literature highlighting action points to ensure a positive impact on the environment when sailing.
• We are testing a radical new ‘green’ antifoul to improve the environmental performance of our boats
